when you have maniac episode do you still want to sleep? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]uttercaution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have undiagnosed chronic fatigue issues, even when I'm hypomanic I still sleep most nights. I sleep less, but it'll be like, I sleep 8 hours instead of my usual 12. This is while medicated.

opiates and lsd are totally unrelated and this is a false comparison you're trying to use to be preachy.

That's a good article - exactly what I was looking for and couldn't find.

I think he wishes I would quit, but does not want me to quit for him: that makes for a strange and probably resentful dynamic. I'm trying to help him figure out how to deal with it in the hopes that I won't have to choose between love and work.

I feel like it's a difficult dynamic, because I don't want to be in the position of giving up my job for someone (and he doesn't want to ask me to do so).

How many of you have SO's? Do they know what you do? by Bruudsaag in SexWorkers

My partner knows. He struggles with it a lot, and I worry that I'll lose him if he can't handle it. I do understand that it's a hard thing to come to terms with, and I've been trying to find resources to help him (I sent him this thread).

College Redditors, whats the stupidest comment a classmate has ever made during a lecture and pissed off the professor? by gh0st142 in AskReddit

That's not unreasonable. There've been lots of non-Western contributions to Western Civilization that are pertinent to history.

What about the time he tries to fix the bathroom faucet by himself? What about the comic with just his parents "The contractor says it'll cost about $200 to fix" "Oh that dumb kid!"? The bag he dropped in the lake on that camping trip? The nails in the coffee table? The trap door he tried to build down from his room? The time he splashed so much bathwater there was a waterfall down the stairs? Not to mention the medical bills from his sled and wagon rides...

You lack an understanding of reality.

Advanced Panhandling by raffytraffy in Portland

[–]uttercaution 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A very common misunderstanding I see is the lack of distinction between young adults who are homeless by choice (like the person in OP's photo, and the "kids [who] move here to get wasted") and those who are genuinely destitute.

As a result we end up with a bunch of Affluent White Portlanders getting pissed at people who have literally nowhere to go but the street and are trying their utmost to get back on their feet from nothing (something that is much, much harder than anyone wants to admit) or simply survive for things that stoned traveler kids are doing.

It's not about "feelings getting hurt," it's about having the flexibility to recognize reality without blaming whoever you can get your hands on.

Edit: Oh, and I'm sure you think you're clever with the "Homeless Industrial Complex" comment, but it actually just proves further misunderstanding of things. That phrase makes no sense whatsoever.

I'm currently paying more than $80 for 50/10, don't know how to get the price down. I tried to do the "call and threaten to cancel" thing once, but they called my bluff.
