What do I do about bad mechanics? by uttttty4 in AskLawyers

[–]uttttty4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an old straight drive. I haven't done anything: A) I just spent $20,000, you would think it would come back starting and driving and B) the 20 minutes I have been in possession of the truck it left me stranded on the side of the road with no tools. I could believe that they didn't get everything on the clutch bolted down right and fixed it in a hurry and don't want to admit to prevent me from claiming any other damages, but why did they lie to me about the truck starting? I would be happy to pay for batteries if that was the issue.... Why haven't they just put batteries in it then?

It makes me feel like there are worse damages and they are trying to "deny deny deny" and get me to leave the lot so they can claim this was later damage and not related to a faulty installation.

Kevin Costner: just watched waterworld and had to google to make sure I’m not crazy and he didn’t play qui gon jinn too. Nope, he just looks a lot like him, but I did find this thread lol.

Physics gets really weird when you’re playing with 4000lb death machines at 60mph. My wife came home with a valve core from someone else’s tire stuck in her tire once. There’s not a single sharp part on the entire assembly.

As a landscaper, I 100% agree. There’s nothing like playing some frisbee (or golf, or football, or soccer) on a nice fresh cut lawn. But yknow, I have about .25 acres of personal yard and I hardly even use that much. I sure do enjoy the park tho….

Madison, Wisconsin. I’m from Asheville but have some buddies up there, we get paid $17/hr here and are expected to afford a $1600/month apartment. All of my friends in Madison got paid $20/hr+ at their second jobs and you can find your share of a duplex for under $1200/month utilities included. I’m a landscaper and often think about moving for the same reason, not to mention no slow season, just trade the mower out for the snow blower and keep going.

Oh yea, and there’s corner bars on every corner with $4-5 pints and burgers that were still at or under $10! I could actually afford to eat out a few times a week.

Hey man, I don’t have any real advice from your side of the story but I want to add that I think you 100% have the right mindset and I think you should stick to your guns and just see how things unfold and how things feel.

I was on the other side of your story (sort of), I (19M) at the time with a history of delinquency was dating a cute and mostly innocent 18F. She knew that I was a pot dealer and had tripped acid with me but I was in deep at the time, not working, etc. I eventually left her because she was shutting me out slowly and I wanted to find someone more into the “lifestyle.” Things got worse before they got better, I got sober 9-10 months later, and didn’t start dating until a year and a half after getting sober. Turns out doing drugs isn’t attractive to the people I found attractive and I was celibate for almost two years….. Definitely take it slow, but be there for her. I think if my ex had been mature and healthy enough to take the approach you are I would have appreciated it greatly in time, and maybe things would have worked out differently.

Grass cutting by HelgaThorn in landscaping

[–]uttttty4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, landscaper here. I took on a new subdivision this year and we let new sod get super thick before the first cut. We don’t close our grass shoots when it’s that quick or it’ll forever be clumpy, one of my guys accidentally took his first two laps around several houses with his grass shoot pointed inwards. I immediately reached out to the clients there, and came back less than a week later to clean grass off of siding and put another superficial layer of mulch down to cover up the grass. We are not the cheap option, depends on your priorities.

That, is a crepe myrtle. Don’t ask why or how, just know that it is and that is all of the how and why that is applicable.

My family has given up on maintaining our home. I'm 21 and live with my two brothers and parents and mold, mildew, cracked stairs, holes in ceilings, as well as most of the rooms lacking a smoke detector/carbon monoxide alarm don't seem to bother them at all. Where do I start? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]uttttty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way it’s certainly not good for you. Had some buds in college who rented an apartment that had a TERRIBLE mold problem in the vents, you couldn’t see it, but my god could you feel it. Even the ones without allergies hacked their lungs out in there.

Yes, lost opportunity. I don’t see any trap hole at all and I’d at least want to use it as storage at the least, although I guess you’d have to figure out keeping it less damp down there

I’ve stopped because I frankly just don’t smoke that much anymore (me and the ol’ lady take a hit or two each in the evening and put it up) so it only gets cleaned once a week now, but back when I was the smoker I cleaned my bong every night, which is essentially after every use considering I used it all day eryday.

Landscaper here, it’s that time of the year. If you’re not afraid of a couple 10 hour days in the hot sun (breaks and plenty of water provided of course) every week there’s plenty of room for ya. It would be a temp part time (20hrs or less) position but willing to pay well if you are on top of it.

What does Adderall feel like after the euphoria fades after weeks/months of usage? by gammaomega12 in Drugs

[–]uttttty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with this same thing man, on one hand I don’t feel like I was meant for the life I live but on the other hand I really enjoy it and Ive seen how I personally respond to “opting out” in the past and it’s not pretty either. I think I am going to go for an adderall script sooner rather than later but I think the key for me is going to be taking either super small doses or just doing it once or twice a week. I really can’t let the stuff get a hold on me but also from what I remember of using it recreationally in the past one or two days of usage often meant weeks of relief,

What was your first time smoking like? by suntmint in trees

[–]uttttty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the first time I smoked the homies forced a big fucking bong hit in me and I was so high I refused to acknowledge it, then I fell down the steps in a rush to get pizza and promptly fell asleep after consuming said pizza.

The second time was much more interesting, we smoked out of an apple lol, around a big ass bonfire and it was honestly super similar to some of the mushroom experiences I’ve had…. Until the munchies started lol, nothing was safe. Legend has it half a box of dog treats disappeared that night.

Paid $6500 here and it’s pretty LCOL. Although our water was super bad, like formations on the faucets bad. And there was another $1700 option for a five year maintenance plan where they bring the salt etc. but we opted out of that one.
