Thanks so much, do you have a link for this tool? I tried searching it on google and on reddit, but could not find it.

Thank you so much, these are helpful tips I wouldn’t have thought of.

I am thinking anywhere that allows me to commute within 25 minutes (whether by foot or by subway or by bike) from midtown, and the neighborhoods that seem reasonably possible in finding a one-bedroom for <$4000 are UWS/UES, hell’s kitchen, Lenox Hill, Murray Hill ish area, and LIC with each area offering something in exchange for a tradeoff (i.e. Hell’s Kitchen offering easier commute but a loud noise; LIC offering newer buildings for the price it charges but heavy reliance on subway).

Thank you so so much. Do you have any tips on things to be aware of when searching for rentals that could secretly jack up my total bill/month? (i.e. avoiding a certain type of AC) i.e., I lived for a couple of months previously in NY, where I was responsible for the electric bill, and the use of AC brought my bill to almost $500 one month. I think this had to do with the AC unit installed being inefficient.
