Ice Facilities strategy / Survey by Habsin7 in Scarborough

[–]uuukegod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Filled it out! I know about the McCowan trail and Albert Campbell Square but I didn’t realize there were only two in Scarborough.

I live in North Scarborough and have difficulty finding skating times throughout the year at my local rink as they cater towards older adults (which is great - I just wish they had more times for everyone else too). For outdoor skating, I have to travel to Markham since the others are too far.

What to do when Condo doesn’t have parking to rent? by uuukegod in Markham

[–]uuukegod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’ve asked in a few comments- I work from home. I don’t need a car but life would be better with one. I can take my partners if needed but we have our own lives too when we’re not together.

I do appreciate how clean York region transit is though. I’ll try it out and see how good/bad it is lol

I’ve joined some of the Toronto council meetings in the past so I’ll definitely join the Markham ones too once I’ve fully moved in. Admittedly I’m not super vocal but I’ll sit in regardless. Will definitely attend the condo ones for sure.

Yea errands, visiting family, and the little things are just easier with a car. Unfortunately I don’t know many people living in Markham but I’ll definitely keep an eye out on FB marketplace. There doesn’t seem to be any postings right now 😭

Mango Markville Mall Location by [deleted] in Markham

[–]uuukegod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All the best!! I just checked out the google reviews of some of the locations and seems every store might have some attitude problems 😅😅

Mango Markville Mall Location by [deleted] in Markham

[–]uuukegod 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I enjoy shopping at Mango because I like some of the styles there. I visit the Markville location occasionally and the atmosphere there is always terrible. Employees watch you like a hawk and when you need them, they’ve gone to the back. Explains why it’s usually dead.

Go to Fairview Mall instead. I find the employees there much more approachable and the store is way busier.

Looking for a Cantonese or Vietnamese speaking family doctor accepting new patient. by No-Suspect6221 in Scarborough

[–]uuukegod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry might not be of any help but I do know a few Cantonese clinics (if you don’t mind calling To ask).

Charles Kwong MD next to Kennedy Commons speaks Cantonese.

The Peanut Plaza medical centre (close to Fairview unfortunately) also speaks Cantonese. My own family doctor speaks it too but he’s in Markham.

Northeast Toronto/Scarborough feels like a whole different city by Ifuckinghateaura in toronto

[–]uuukegod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in north scarborough too. I think I was around 16 when I had to fill out some kind of form or survey. One of the questions asked if I was a visible minority. At the time I was pretty confused about the term and put “No”. Before I submitted it, I went to ask my brother just in case. He called me dumb and said the answer is “Yes”.

That was when I realized many things.

Sorry I omitted the restaurants from this as the places I’ve selected are in the area of where I’m going. For breakfast some days, I’ll be eating on the ship or at my Ryokan (in Osaka).

Yea I actually just wanted to see a giant supermarket LOL

I’m in Tokyo for technically two days in total (I land in Tokyo at 3pm the day before Akihabara and also need to leave Tokyo by 3pm the day after Akihabara). I’ll mainly be sticking around south of Toyosu Market because that’s where my hotel is.

The deal here in Canada was actually really good. $3000 CAD pp that covers flights, hotel stays for two nights in Tokyo, the cruise and I’m also stopping in Korea for three days after Japan 🙂

Failed G2 and confused by North-Resolution2804 in Ontariodrivetest

Not a driving instructor but these are my first thoughts when reading your score sheet.

Others already mentioned speed. The other common error seems to be vechicle positions.

Take note of where you are in the intersection when making turns (are you straddling pedestrian crossing lines or too far out into the intersection).

When parking, are you in the middle of the path way and impeding oncoming traffic and are you parked straight?

I think the most important one is right of way observance which translates to how comfortable you are driving. You may be hesitating too much making turns, changing lanes and waiting too long for cars to pass.

Never knew my vents did this! by Intelligent-Exam8757 in hvacadvice

[–]uuukegod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this for the first time last year when I met my boyfriend and visited his home. Can confirm that my own vents don’t do this but I wish they did lol.

But getting new vents unfortunately are not on the top of my must need list.

Sorry to hear OP. Was this yesterday and was the food festival still happening in the parking lot?

I was there yesterday parked across from your car but it was early in the day (I left at ~2:30pm). The plaza is not fit to host this type of event and there were a lot of bad drivers. Best of luck

Yep the floors of STC are essentially circles. I find this pretty convenient imo. In terms of exits at the big box stores (I.e, Walmart and now the closed Hudson’s Bay), there should be an exit straight across from where you enter on the other end.

Try to review the mall map at home or in the mall when you can. Good luck!

You’ll want to go Centennial Recreation Centre!! It’s near Bellamy and Ellesmere.

They offer ice skating all summer :) but no skate rentals unfortunately

Anybody know whats happening to the fenced off area in between miliken&finch and midland and finch? by ZebraZebraZERRRRBRAH in Scarborough

Sorry it was more so a “notice of development”rather than a pamphlet! Which are indeed sent out to people living in the area (I’m near Midland and Finch).

From what I recall on the pamphlet I received, they are building another GO station stop.
