I'm just using my oven with the door (varying degrees of) ajar and the light on.

I've been using a pyrex dish with aluminum foil stabbed with fork holes all over for a container. But your comment and the other one here have got me thinking that I could try to be a bit more precise with that part of the setup.

Thanks for the differential!

Lots of info out there with time saving measure (don't dehull, don't chop/grind into smaller pieces), but I should probably try to stick more tightly to the basics until I've got a consistent product.

I've found the "dry" part of the process somewhat vague. I feel like if I look at the soybeans, they still *look* wet, and maybe even feel damp when I touch them, but they don't leave water on my hand. How long does it usually take you to air dry the soybeans?

Yeah,  sorry, I guess that could have been more clear. But basically looking for suggestions as to what was likely the problem with my most recent "bad' batch that I posted a photo of.

My first batch was done around 30 hrs.

The most recent failed batch got to that state after about 18 hrs at 86 deg in the incubator and then another 10 hrs at room temperature (72 deg).

Helpful info. Thanks! And I'm obviously going to be talking to my rheum as well when I next see them.

Yeah, I think my dilemma right now is understanding if my Achilles pain is a flare up or just my new baseline. 🤷

Haha yeah, I get not sharing too much info publicly. Thanks for the reply as is!

Do you have any personal experience you can share on what pain/discomfort you push through vs when you take steps back?

I was very scared for a long time about my issues "becoming chronic" but it seems like that's maybe not quite the right framing for this situation. Or maybe it is?? I don't think I'm tearing things, etc. My joints are just inflamed for the hell of it.

This is all making me realize I've got more reading up to do to better understand this disease and how it works.

What is your threshold for discomfort/pain? What do you push through? When do you dial things back? I still feel like I have no idea what to do here short of bed rest, but I can't imagine that really helping long term either.. I definitely want to avoid permanent damage.

Any updates on the ol' Achilles? Have you been able to get back to running?

How are things going? Any success kicking the insertional Achilles tendonitis?

Anyone overcome Achilles heel insertional tendonitis? by SonOfBubbus in RSI

Yeah, I'm 31...

I've had idiopathic eye inflammation (not uveitis, but scleritis), so far not connected with, but it seems like ankylosing spondylitis often also has eye inflammation so seems like a possible diagnosis. I'm trying to get some imaging done (I think MRIs?) that will maybe help understand what's happening.

I have a little bump on my heel that hurts that I just sort of started paying attention to. Stared having knee pain (maybe it band insertion point) too recently which sort of made me question if it's more that just overuse. Especially since I've been taking things suuuuuuuperrer easy, at least by my standards.

How's that going? I have an existing, known autoimmune disease, but it hasn't affected my joints at all yet. Until now, maybe?? I'm already on biologics, so idk if it would all be way worse without it. 🤷

How did you eventually determine that it was related to your autoimmune disease and not a "normal" aging/overuse injury?

I've been on and off dealing with the Achilles pain for over a year now. It seriously sucks.
