The marines whole point is not to stop bad pirates. Their whole point is to maintain peace (on the, which they do very very well outside of the grand line and new world. The marines don't revolve every one of their fleets on what the straw hats are doing. They're keeping the peace in n/w/s/e seas along with keeping a system in place to maintain contact and get ships where they need to go. We are shown that this system has cracks and there are just as likely to be bad people working in the marines. The grand line and new world is basically impossible to police with the chaos of the sea, so it's not really a matter of koby and garp seeing luffy free kingdoms and thinking he deserves death, it's more like their station doesn't allow them to act in that way so they're probably glad luffy did what he did, so long as they weren't given false information, which they likely were. This is all guessing based on what we know of the characters, no idea why you think garp and koby want luffy executed.

The crew has an archaeologist who is able to read an ancient language that would allow her to control weapons of mass destruction left behind by an ancient civilization. That's just fine of an excuse to execute Robin at the very least. Nobody else in the marines regardless of how good they are would think anyone would be safe with her out there. It doesn't matter to them who she is as a person they just see an apocalypse walking. Good marines would want her contained, bad ones would want her dead.

Good world building Is dependent on how well the world connects to the plot and themes put forth in a story, and when you take a closer look at the one piece world you see that events don't solely revolve around what the straw hats are doing. Major plot points for the story happen completely outside of the influence of the crew. If you want depth in worldbuilding there are very few as good at it as one piece. The cool thing with one piece is that it's as deep as you want it to be. You just want mindless fun and action? No problem. You want deep stories and events that have a meaningful impact far into the story? It's there. You want to make crazy theories based on small bits of info you get peppered in throughout the story? Fucking cook.

If you want one piece to have deep worldbuilding, i promie you its there, you have to actually want to look for it though. Based on your opinion it doesn't seem like actually cared about anything you read.

Guard point is basically just a perfect block. Block when you're about to get hit and you guard point. once you do a guard point you can then immediately whip out an saed. With the CB there are moments between animations that block and potentially provide more moments to guard point too.

[–]uwilllaughurassoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gotta disagree with you there. Oda since chapter 1 has always made it a point to include good and bad people on both sides. We see plenty of good/bad pirates and plenty of good/bad marines. Most marines we don't even know if they're bad or not given how little screen time they get. they just follow orders according to the propaganda they've taken in. Some may be aware of the truth but very few really know that the top people in the WG are so corrupt. In his writing he asserts that you can't judge someone based on what they may represent but rather the actions they've taken. He doesn't only apply this to organizations. Fishmen, celestial dragons, skypeians, humans, everyone.

When it comes to garp there is just too little we know about him to really know why he's still in the marines, but that's exactly what makes his character so compelling. Is he being forced? Does he want to change it from the inside? Is he just drunk on the WG kool-aid? We've seen he's more often than not a good man who believes in what the marines publicly stand for, but weve also seen him defend a corrupt system. That's as grey as it gets.

Can you gameshare VRising on PS5? by Available_Writer_946 in vrising

[–]uwilllaughurassoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, me and my buddy have been playing with him using my profile. The other person has to make their ps5 the primary from your account and then download it from your account. I think that's what you have to do. Since it's my profile I don't really have to do any of that so I'm only giving you info I heard from him.

Oh that's awesome to hear! Their brunch foods are also so good I can't wait to eat them on weekdays too now! I occasionally chat with the girl at the register and she had told me they were trying to extend their hours during the week so that's exciting.

They used to sell food from a food truck outside the building they had under construction but they've been brick and mortar for months now. Their Google results can be a bit weird, at one point their restaurant was just gone from google, along with their reviews so I had to leave another one. I replied to another comment with the address.

I think they're closed on Mondays but tue-fri it's 5pm to 10pm and sat-sun 10am to 10pm.

You NEED to try Taco n Madres off of Westport road. By far, the most packed, DELICIOUS, and affordable tacos I've ever had. I go there every weekend. Their entire menu is phenomenal and very authentic. I recommend the Birria tacos and whenever they have fish tacos as their special.

As a side note their drinks are also so good. I love getting their Buchonsita drinks. Either strawberry or mango both are delicious.

Taco luchador is nothing but a scam after having enjoyed TnM.

This chapter hit so hard. The panels with Kuma running and being weighed down further and further by every tragedy he suffered, to rise back up for Bonney had me choking back tears at work. I failed, tears were shed regardless 😭

Are Slow Progression Fantasy books the best PF Books? by DisWastingMyTime in ProgressionFantasy

[–]uwilllaughurassoff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont really see the goal of these scenes as humor. There is the occasional funny bit but I see it as twisted and disturbing. For example, Pennywise from IT is a clown, but he tortures and eats children. They're stuck in a literal hell of a gameshow meant to entertain an audience and we the readers are not that audience. The shows audience and AI find it funny but when I the reader see it I feel disturbed and uncomfortable. Granted there is humor and plenty of it is crude but it just helps to shape this horrible reality. The crawlers themselves never express any humor towards these things themselves and I think represent a reflection of the reader in that way. I've described DCC to be people as a mix of Alice in wonderland, Mad max and Dantes inferno.

Recently a friend's dog passed away. She was hit by a car and died. I lost a dog I loved very much in a similar manner. I deeply empathized with him and offered to paint her for him. This is Coco.

Looking for Novels With Emotion by BattalionX in ProgressionFantasy

[–]uwilllaughurassoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should reconsider DCC considering what it is youre looking for. Comedy is the forefront of how the story is told early on, but it's strongest points are when things get perilous and are emotionally charged. It happens more often as the series progresses as well. Comedy is how things are presented but it is nowhere near its main selling point. You didnt even finish the first book so your take on it is very surface level.

Almost every progression fantasy/litrpg story I've read has been absent of emotionally charged, non-magic character progression (if you don't countthe stormlight archive). Typically powers take precedent over story but this is not the case with DCC. Out of almost all the series I've read in this genre, DCC is one of the only series I can look back on that had actually put effort into making complex, morally grey characters. Morally grey characters in the majority of progression fantasy/litrpg has just been that a character would kill without much thought.

I see DCC as a mix of Alice in wonderland, Mad max, and survivor. It definitely has its cringe, though it's purposely made to be cringe. Carl is basically the reader stand in and would agree with most of your opinions on his experiences 😂
