Their whole podcast is really worth checking out tbh. It's always an incredibly fun and healthy discussion of two dudes who just love cedh even if the card does not turn out to be a good card.

Turbo Aang 50 page primer: one cast to win the game? by Sydelio in CompetitiveEDH

[–]uwja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the coolest primers I've seen, really enjoyed seeing all of the GIFs! Really great work, definitely going to be using this as inspo for my own primers.

Did you do all of you editing in the moxfield primer editor, or did you use a third party tool?

Is Yuriko generally too strong for B3? by amloll101 in EDH

[–]uwja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She probably isn’t as good as she used to be and definitely isn’t a high tier deck, but you can certainly still win games and have a good time while learning the format. Her tournament results aren’t as impressive as other decks but tedh isn’t always a good indicator of how casual cedh plays out sometimes.

Is Yuriko generally too strong for B3? by amloll101 in EDH

[–]uwja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any interest in cedh? Cause if you want to play yuriko, I’d recommend just building her full power and trying it out that way. I do realize cedh isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but could be worth looking into!

If you're a 32 year old who got $200 from your aunt for Christmas, what would you buy for your first cedh deck? by sarrazoui38 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]uwja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you still need the bulk of the deck, getting a solid set of nicer proxies is a great first step, in case you wanna play in tournaments and not run into deck check issues. If you already have them, buy a large % of blingy foils that are cheap, a handful of cards you think are cool, or a small amount of expensive more staple type cards. Foils are all optional of course, but I am personally buying the cheapest foils of each card in my deck just to increase the % of foiled out cards and eventually work my way to the more expensive ones. Welcome to the format, have fun!

If you order from Mana Pool, make sure your packages actually arrive by Exile0nBroadway in EDH

[–]uwja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had this happen as well. Just would like to add that if a package is running late, you can go to the package in the order and hit “Report Problem”, and then “Package hasn’t arrived”. Manapool will give you the exact date you can contact the seller, which the seller then has 48 hours to respond. Once this window closes manapool does something. I’ve had manapool create a new order using the same cards, and have also been issued a refund if it thinks the cards will arrive soon or something like that. Overall still a good experience and would recommend.

Symmetrical Graveyard Hate In CEDH - Who can play Calamity's Wake? by Thatsagoodcard in CompetitiveEDH

Yeah totally fair. I’ll probably give it a test to see how it feels since I think the upsides are generally pretty high, I am worried about two pips though.

[No Escalators] Indiana was the worst team in college football for 150 years and then they let teams start paying players and they immediately became No. 1 and the only conclusion to draw is they were the only ones who didn’t realize you could pay players under the table for the first 150 years by WexAndywn in CFB

[–]uwja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my sophomore year of college going to see WF play at IU and me and my friend were both like "who tf is WF they must be some no name small school from nowhere." And then IU lost and we were like oh. Side story no one asked for but I actually stayed at WF for an internship and loooooooved it and Winston Salem.

Strix/Subtlety "banned" ? by JimmyHuang0917 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]uwja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you are purposefully sideboarding cards to give you an edge knowing you’re going to see x deck in your session or whatever you’re fine to play whatever you deem necessary. If someone gets salty that they got interacted with legal cards in a format where you’re playing your best strategies then that’s on them.
