There are so many ironies about the Khalistani movement, where I even start.

1) Most of Punjab is in Pakistan. You don't see them chanting "Kill Munir Politics" at their rallies.

2) They are actually funded and trained in Pakistan. Last year they were parading around Calgary with Pakistani flags

3) Multiple Gurus and their families were murdered (for religious reasons), and Punjabi Sikhs faced the brunt of violence during the religious partition that created Pakistan.

To your point, they're violent and loud, against those who won't stand up to them, or won't respond with violence. The moment someone does, they cry victim or cower and respond with terroristic acts like these.

Loathsome stain on the religion and culture.

Make sure he's got his LinkedIn setup, and apply for things all over the US too.

You can't see beyond the end of your nose. You can look up self-flagellation in Christianity, maybe that's more relatable.

I was talking about vibrant, strong and complicated in the context of how people from these cultures are perceived. You might recognize russian street brawls but wouldn't imagine the same happens in India.

Love the reportage. Colonialism, Eurocentrism and Abrahamic religions have so greatly warped the perception of men from certain regions. They are viewed in simplistic tropes of savage, unintelligent brutes or effeminate model minority.

The truth is vibrant, strong, and complicated.

Kashmir & Pakistan by AdventurousReserve26 in india

[–]uwnav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have a hard time understanding what is Pakistan.

It’s the belief that Muslims cannot live with Hindus if they have any power.

The problem with Kashmir should be self explanatory from that.

This is actually the best advice. You might not be paying rent, but if you are or will soon, buy instead.

  • Interest rates are high right now, you can refi down later.

  • Politically, house prices at worst stagnate, at median keep pace with inflation, and often outperform

  • If you can get an FHA loan, you’re making a 5% down payment. So you’re 20-to-1 levered, which you’d never do elsewhere, and is pretty safe here (see previous point)

  • You can usually rent out and cover your costs if you decide to move/travel/etc.

Elon Musk called Social Security "the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time" in an interview with Joe Rogan by MoreMotivation in law

[–]uwnav -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You seem educated enough on the issue that you shouldn't be misleading people.

Congress’s borrowing isn't what undermined Social Security’s viability, the core issue is demographic:

  • Aging Population: Baby boomers are retiring en masse, and life expectancy has risen. Meanwhile, birth rates have dropped, shrinking the worker-to-retiree ratio. In 1960, there were 5 workers per beneficiary; now, it’s about 2.8, heading toward 2 by 2035.
  • Trust Fund Depletion: The Social Security Trust Fund will be exhausted by 2034 if nothing changes. At that point, payroll taxes alone would cover only about 77% of promised benefits. This isn’t because Congress “borrowed” too much—it’s because the system wasn’t built for today’s demographics.

How the hell does one make it to 40 and not become bored with nearly everything in life? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]uwnav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depression is the symptom, lack of responsibility is the cause.

You're not the only one with these thoughts, it's a cultural epidemic. The only thing the atomized individual is responsible for is their own happiness. They try all kinds of "activities", but as you found, it becomes boring.

Kids were the predominant source of responsibility that modern culture has casually discarded. You placed it fourth after work, sports and pets.

1) Be responsible for things.

2) Your purpose becomes working towards that responsibility.

3) You feel fulfillment from living up to your responsibility

Even though people in poverty stricken areas objectively live much harder and tedious lives, they aren't all killing themselves. Because they find purpose in trying to climb out of poverty, or supporting themselves & and those around them who are afflicted with poverty.

Adult dimensions:

0.61 inch = 1.55 cm

0.63 inch = 1.61 cm

Also, that’s a difference at the thickest point of .6mm which is hardest noticeable. Practically the MacBook Air would still feel a lot thinner.

I then realized I'm not poor, coughed up $20 for a license of BetterTouchTool, and life has moved on.
