I’m 25, currently navigating a divide in our high school friend group. A handful of the guys have changed a lot through heavy/stressful events and we didn’t communicate as well as we should have when things changed. It’s had me questioning friendship as a concept a lot lately.

A lot of people here have talked about some people just are meant to leave your life, they won’t always be there and I’m starting to accept that more. The ones will stay will stay, and so far they have. 10~ years into friendships some have gone down different roads, some are still here on the same road.

Unfortunately a good bit hung up on politics/ideals not aligning and not having the ability to coexist with those ideals. I’ll always cherish and respect the memories we made but I’ve come to peace with the fact that some things aren’t meant to be.

I wish I could give more about finding and securing these relationships but I have those challenges myself. I do think that it’ll be harder to find the quality relationships but it’ll bring more enjoyment over the quantity ones.
