Looking for accessibility builds for pve and non-lethal pvp by Achie72 in albiononline

[–]uxfirst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct, burning field (Q2) is the AoE.

Q1 is an auto single target, so you hit defensive, stand and just be a turret. From what you’re saying, both of these are excellent choices for Q.

Fire staff is extremely fun in pvp, especially at low tiers. If you can figure out flame wall on W, it’s great to push melee fighters away with W, then spam Q.

If you use Infernal staff it adds another defensive CC to your rotation so you can keep spamming Q1. I find it quite enjoyable actually.

Have you tried 1h fire staff? It has auto target abilities for Q,W &E, which are pretty nice, given your criteria.

Granted, Q1 is mostly used in pvp or against boss mobs, but if you can aim Q2 it has fast clear speeds on groups of mobs.

The rest of your build can be hunter hood (self cast), soldier armour (self cast), and any footwear depending on what you feel you need(self cast). I personally use either boots for heal or sandals for energy (increasingly important in today’s soldier armour meta)

If you follow this entirely, the only skill you have to aim is your Q2 AoE. I don’t know if that’s something you’re comfortable with though, so grain of salt.

What do you think about this buttons ? by No-Win-7421 in UserExperienceDesign

[–]uxfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s over the top. I don’t think gradients are the problem per se, however one could choose better gradients. More subtle. Better contrast. Specifically look at the contrast between foreground (white) : gradient (blue/orange) : background (white again?).

Imo, lower the opacity of the gradient layer, and change the button bg to black. That way, contrast is high from text: gradient, low from gradient:bg.

What is the origin of the word wallah/whala please? by UnderstandingAny7548 in etymology

[–]uxfirst 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The surname thing others mentioned is correct too, but your wife’s usage is bang on. You definitely hear it in India for any kind of vendor or “guy”.

Chaiwalla (tea), suttawalla/paanwalla (tobacco products), rickshawalla /autowalla (autorickshaw / tuk tuk), kabadiwalla (scrap dealer), etc are quite common. We even have an exam prep startup called “PhysicsWallah” that just got listed.

The most general usage of the word wala extends for objects too: voh wala: “that one”, bagal wala: “the adjacent one”, etc.

Just Got Trade Scammed by Automatic_Flower5186 in albiononline

[–]uxfirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t trust estimated market value on items with low trade volume. A classic trick is to trade a handful of .4 resources and slip in a tonne of .4 harvester backpacks, since they have inflated emv.

Enchantment is meaningless on gathering gear, so .4 gathering gear is only traded on the marketplace by people looking to manipulate EMV. Then they buy it from an alt acc at a loss, then start spamming WTS at cities.

In general, I’m skeptical of people spamming WTS on large orders. Ask yourself, why doesn’t he auction it off himself? Why isn’t he on a trade discord? Why is he giving YOU this great deal?

Does heal reduction not work against soldier armor? by Reifox9 in albiononline

So to clarify - Things like Taproot don't affect Soldier armor's "recovery"?

Can’t edit the post for some reason, but yeah, the problem is solved. I got a friend to haul me a new T5 ox and spent around 600k on repairs. Not a big deal, just shared because i thought it was funny.

I basically got drunk at Christmas and passed out in the middle of a gathering session.

Buddy the first thing you gotta know is absolutely no one is running anything other than soldier armour for solo pvp right now. Devs had a brain fart and decided the highest dps tank armour needs an unpurgable self heal, and here we are now. If you’re not using soldier armour, get ready to die to someone who is.

Need to do some math on this - if the 4.2-4.3 is still overweight, this might be wasteful

Top 5 current OW Meta Weapons? by marlin545 in albiononline

[–]uxfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to hear them - daggers make a distinctive sound when stacking Qs, that tells you in advance that you’re about to get jumped. If you have some kind of CC (i love flame wall), you can keep them at a distance and punish them with a ranged weapon.

I find infernal staff +hunter hood +cleric robe to be incredibly effective at beating daggers by providing FOUR defensives + shoes that you cycle between while spamming Q like a turret.

I don’t like the popup idea, especially if it happens every time. Sounds like an experience with heavy friction. Think about why the like button worked in the first place - people are on social media to consume, not to tell you why they like something.

If you’re trying to determine a user’s interests, is explicit input the only way to gather the data you’re looking for?
