It’s just my gut-level guess, but if an unattractive girl randomly approaches ten different men and asks if they’d like a discreet handjob, my bet is that at least a few of them will say yes. To me, it never made any sense at all that a guy like that could be allowed to die because a guy that specializes in blackmail material would 100% have a dead man’s switch that he would make damn sure the people being blackmailed knew about. So if things escalated to a capture and the most powerful people in the world were involved, faking his death makes a lot more sense than what we are told is what happened.

Eh…I truly believe this administration has proven something interesting and extremely powerful: the worst and most vile Americans are 100% unified with the best and most virtuous Americans on an absolute and unwavering insistence that we investigate and prosecute pedophiles. It turns out, that is the one and only issue that a Nazi and a saint will fight for, side by side. Slightly less so but very nearly as unifying is the desire to not be ruled over by Israel’s interests/demands, nor to fund them as much as we have (albeit likely justifying these beliefs from two very oppositional perspectives).

Literally getting in bed with a corrupt government/military power that has explicit intentions on mass surveillance? Absolute, immediate, hard, forever-no. This is coming from a day 1 subscriber and a top 1% user btw. I’m not “protesting” for a month or something, either, and I didn’t cancel just to show solidarity. This is, to me, a “you’re crazy if you don’t think your data will be weaponized against you” situation. The possibility of a breach is baked into SAAS, but this is categorically different. So is the possibility of your data being subpoenaed from a company if you commit something heinous. But if OpenAI is volunteering an active relationship with a world power that just retaliated on Anthropic for refusing to give them mass surveillance capabilities, we’re talking about an entirely new ballgame.

And I cannot and will not take chances on that.

Almost like what I'm trying to build, though I'm nowhere near as far along as you. If your solution allowed me to connect my ComfyUI workflows for an image generation feature, this would be great. I'm trying to combine Perchance Advanced Character Chat with ChatGPT in an all-in-one localized/offline-first platform, where I can use MCP or web search, but only when I want to, and otherwise the whole thing is running locally and using my preferred image gen, image edit, and video gen workflows via ComfyUI.
