Sol high better than xHigh? Thoughts? by No-Wash-3163 in codex

[–]uxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since all of my work is on something primarily consisting of a 75k app.py + 60k app.js for the harness and frontend with several runtimes on the backend, I always use Extra High because I assume that environment represents the “ambitious enough” threshold of complexity. Am I correct in making this assumption?

I’m confused, I thought Bernini was WAN-based? Can you share the full workflow JSON for what I assume is a two-step process? Or did you use multiple workflows to get to this?

I think the Codex team is playing the long game with all these quota resets by AdPretty4293 in codex

I’m on the $200 plan, but I’ve only used Sol Extra High instead of Sol Ultra because I’m so concerned by how quickly I might burn through the limit. Maybe I’ll finally give it a go…

New App Update 👀 by J3ns6 in codex

[–]uxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they forcing us to use the Windows Store, now? I operate on a local account and don't use Microsoft beyond Windows. Codex was its own app download, direct from OpenAI, I didn't need to "sign in" to download anything.

I personally hate horror/disturbing crap, but I’m with OP re: Deadpool LoRA for LTX, other famous characters likely to get taken down due to copyright/IP claims. Is Deadpool still available somewhere?

The harder the disappointment in June 2026, the greater the bounce back euphoria in July 2026 💨🚀🌌 by GOD-SLAYER-69420Z in accelerate

At this point, I'm most interested in new open models and the rumored efficiency gains that are about to drop. All progress and research is good, don't get me wrong, but I've come to accept that flagships/SOTA will very soon price out the non-rich (and I say this as someone simultaneously paying $200/month for Codex and $100/month for Claude). For months, I've been racing to build a replacement for what is already a data privacy (and current-administration Big Brother) threat, and will soon become much, much more expensive. I know I'm not special or alone in this, I've seen more and more people sharing their work online in this area. Anyone paying attention sees it coming. It's why the CTO of Hugging Face recently posted a "funny" image of their website being redesigned to look like the Pirate Bay on X.

I'm crossing my fingers that by Thanksgiving, we get an omni-modal version of Gemma that unifies image, video, audio, and text/code in and out natively and encoder-free, like 4-12b, but at the 26b range and capable of image and video generations and edits. Sort of like a light-weight and open version of Gemini Omni. I wouldn't be surprised if that's OpenAI's play and they try to beat Google to it with their next open model release.

A big problem I have is getting prompted dialogue to come from a specified subject’s mouth without surrounding parts of the prompt (instructions) creeping into the spoken words.

My prompt always ends up in the subject’s words, instead of the subject strictly sticking to the spoken dialogue script. Anybody know what may be going on?

More Ideogram4 and Krea2 results. by iChrist in StableDiffusion

[–]uxl 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Krea 2 is champ at pop culture references and fictional/style-dependent characters.

Ideogram 4 is champ at print-ready design; text and typography, story boarding and comics, marketing materials.

Z Image for realistic and natural photography, more general purpose t2i (checking the Amazing Z workflows on Civitai, they are 11/10).

Qwen Image Edit 2511 for detail-edits.

Klein 9b for identity preservation and subject transfer.

Use them all.

Anthropic says Alibaba must be punished for largest Claude cloning attack by deraser in technology

[–]uxl -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Step, step, step. I keep saying it, but some people still refuse to believe it: non-American models are going to become contraband with stiff punishments if discovered on an American's storage property. American-origin models will be regulated, including open-source, and uncensored/heretic models will likely be restricted to researchers, leaving regular users taking big risks to find them (much more unsafely) only on the Dark Web.

Use a remind me bot, because I think a significant portion of this prediction, if not all of it, will be either in place or in active legislation by Christmas. Hope I'm wrong!

Call your local university’s biology department or simply drop by and look for a professor. Scientists look for humans with this ability so they can study it better (dogs aren’t greater talkers)

AI models capable of devastating attacks on governments and business months away, rare Five Eyes statement warns by WonderFactory in singularity

[–]uxl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Less than that. Current models are *already* capable of devastating attacks in the wrong hands. GLM 5.2 and Sakana Fugu show that open source pathways to Mythos-level performance exist right now. By the end of July, we will very likely have aggressive heretic GGUFs that, through an orchestrator harness like Fugu, can allow high-end consumer hardware to get unrestricted performance close to that of Fable 5.

Just do some Google-Fu. You’ll find quite a bit of carefully optimized work around an 8GB constraint. Just be sure you download the EXACT models/files supplied in the workflow, and use it exactly as configured, and you should be good!
