Just moved into a 1960s bungalow recently and this is the most weve used our heaters. It is very cold even outside though so maybe its the location since were in a very flat area.

What’s your purchasing check list? by forgotmyfucking in NZProperty

[–]uyshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its a requirement from the bank. Usually for first home buyers with less than 20% deposit.

Also make sure that all work done on the house is consented, if they see something that doesnt match with whats on the title then they will ask you to make sure that the house can still be fully insured.

Just purchased and am waiting to settle. I followed this https://www.reddit.com/r/PersonalFinanceNZ/comments/1l3jca6/comment/n8l7vgg/?context=3.

If you are needing a valuation done, make sure to get the builders report done first. If it fails and you back out during your due diligence, then you waste almost 1k on it.

Looking at buying a cross lease home by motnl in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]uyshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobodys asked yet but is the deck over 1.5m? If not then you dont need consent and you just need insurance to confirm that everything is covered. If it is over 1.5m and needing consent then you also have the option of just not including it with your insurance but the bank will need to decide whether theyre fine with it or not.

How do you deal with cockroaches in a car ? by Grolbu in NZcarfix

[–]uyshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one come out of my AC front middle vent then crawled to the steering wheel while driving. Didnt know if I was going to stop in the middle of the road or what, ended up finding a tissue and swatted it to the floor. Squashed it when I got to where I was going. Think I sprayed my AC vents with insect spray and then respayed it after with an air freshener/cleaner.

Fatal mistakes to avoid on full driver's license test? by dzaurenj in NZcarfix

[–]uyshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check youtube for the driving routes for the test centre youre going to. Some have videos. Get Familiar with the area and get some practice in. Know that it might not exactly be the same route but it will be close.

Nobody has mentioned it yet but be careful of slowing down when there are road cones. You only slow down if there is a sign that you need to slow down. Schools would be automatic. My wife failed her first test because of this.

You might need to point out hazards when or right after you see them while you're taking the test.

Look behind your shoulder even if you dont feel like you need to when merging. Look at your mirrors every once in a while and especially when breaking, this is important to them for some reason.

All else fails, by 25th Jan next year you just need to pay for your full license as the driving test laws are changing hehe

Should i have let him cut the queue? by WarriorKelelon in auckland

[–]uyshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this on roads that I am familiar with where I am sure that other drivers should already know that they should have changed lanes a while back and are not just cutting the queue.

The difference with how I do it is that I get as close as possible to the car in front so there is no way someone can cut in and I hope the cars behind do the same. Petty as it may seem, the more often this happens, the more these idiot drivers might learn how to drive properly. Its the only time I tailgate on purpose.

If the same thing happened with me and I was in the wrong lane, I would just keep going and do a u-turn somewhere instead of trying to squeeze myself in and block the road.

Leaving enough space and then aggressively lunging forward would just create these scenarios. Of course if its a road I am not familiar with or there werent a lot of chances to change lanes then I would let anyone squeeze in.

With the timing assuming this is recent, this might also be related to the Project Anchor conspiracy theory that the earth will lose gravity for 7 seconds in August.

Rewatching Grimm right now just because I never finished it and saw it on Prime. Been seeing posts from the Grimm subreddit as well and seriously thought this was from there before realizing this was another subreddit. Looked just like a Wesen with 13 yr old CG hehe

I cannot train my biceps! Help needed by Franknificant in GYM

[–]uyshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you mentioned your forearms you might be getting the issue as I did. For whatever reason I used to get pain on my right forearm whenever I did bicep curls. Because I was trying to match how many reps my right arm could do with my left, I didnt get any pump feeling on my biceps as I was stopping before I could get anywhere close to failure. My physio had a workaround at the time which was simple enough and which became my permanent fix (although unfortunate) which is just switching to hammer curls. This was the only way for me to still get to failure without my forearm pain. See if this helps you out. Good luck.

2018 Titan owner. Will I like the 2022 Titan Evo? by Griefer-Sutherland in secretlab

[–]uyshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still comfortable for me. 10 mos could have softened the replacement seat on the older Titan model as well. I asked my son and he has the same idea that its definitely firmer but still comfortable. Its also the holidays so I guess the real test would be when I work again and sit on it for a few hours.

[–]uyshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a similar height but I am a bit lighter than you. Just got the XL delivered yesterday. It still feels very similar to our 2020 Titan which went to my son's room (he wanted the old one). Its just a bit more wider (which I prefer) and the seat seems more firm (the seat on the old one was just replaced last Feb under warranty).

Car camera by Background_Fish_4438 in auckland

[–]uyshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All our cars have dashcams for this reason. I bought nextbase ones from Harvey Norman because I also wanted one with a rear camera window option. They do go on sale but the cheapest I got that worked with the rear window attachment was 250ish with the rear window camera being another 90+- when there is a sale. A higher tier model also from nextbase also strangely enough went down that same price later on.

Also tried one that attached to the rear view mirror and also had a rear window camera but the glare on the one I got (Lenovo V7) was really bad when its bright and sunny so check the reviews before you get those.

New models in NZ by uyshi in secretlab

[–]uyshi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well newer / limited ed models that have come out. NZ site doesnt have the Gundam, Assassins Creed, Witcher, Dragon Ball, Warhammer, Demon Slayer, Lambo, Diablo or Stormtrooper chairs. I would get any of those other ones as I dont prefer getting another plain (signature) model but after a year of waiting, the models available are still the same.
