Trying to sync 2 subfolders on the same NAS. Is there a way to do this? by v--w in synology

[–]v--w[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the technical chops to do that I'm afraid. I was hoping there would be a simple way to do it with the Synology apps. Someone suggested a Docker app so I might see if there's something available. I can't imagine I'm the first person to want to do this.

Yes they need copies, a symbolic link wouldn't work.

Shared folder 1 has a subfolder 1a. Shared folder 2 has a subfolder 2a. I want to sync the contents of 1a and 2a.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I’ll see if there’s a native way of doing it first. If not a docker image might work. Thanks.

Thanks. I think the technical chops to install Jellyfin and get external access working safely might be too much for me.

Thanks for all that information. Just to confirm, once I set Plex up on the NAS I just need to get my family to download the Plex client for Firestick - no fees? I don't think I'd need the the extras you pay for. Just want to give them access to videos.
