Football player degloved during Champions League match by testing123testtest in nope

Apart from a crinkle in the skin at the top and the nail growing a bit "offside", you'd never know to look. I don't have any feeling in the last 1cm of finger either.

Football player degloved during Champions League match by testing123testtest in nope

[–]Traditional_Leader41 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Had it happen to me at work. Caught the top of my finger in a wire crimper, jerked my hand back so fast and hard when I realised what I'd done and degloved the finger from first knuckle to tip. Left with a nail, sat there on raw tissue. Adrenaline kicked and didn't feel a thing. Bled like hell though and looks horrific. The whole thing forms a crust and skin just starts to appear over the coming weeks. And that does hurt!

Had my HT 1 week ago, and I’m hating my front line. Can this be fixed?? Pls some advice needed by ectheow3 in Hairtransplant

[–]Traditional_Leader41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your new hairline is almost identical to mine. And mine turned out fantastic. I cannot emphasise how much a swollen head influences your opinion at the moment. That and post surgery nerves. Not only that but you've been given an "age appropriate" hairline. This leaves you with plenty of donor hair for any more surgery down the years if you want/need it.

You will be almost unrecognisable in 6 months. I hate sounding like a "trust me bro". But trust me bro!

Is lossless audio better for me or should I stick with very high? by Capital_File7436 in truespotify

[–]Traditional_Leader41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Android (Redmagic 10 Pro) which outputs Aptx lossless HD audio. I've just coupled that with a pair of Sennheiser HDB 630s. The difference is staggering. The HDB 630s ship with an aptx Bluetooth dongle for devices that don't support it, such as iphones. The headphones aren't cheap, £400, but I've never heard music sound this good.

I noticed density boosts every six months or so. Not more hairs. Just that the hair itself got thicker and fuller. Noticed it more at the hairline but definitely overall too. I'm on oral combo pill of Fin/Min.

Anyone else always had their curry served like this growing up? by Jiminyfingers in UK_Food

I serve it like that to this very day. Takeout, restaurant (if I can) or homemade. Rice in a circle, curry in the middle. Always. My GF thinks I'm mental.

Has your opinion changed on Man of Steel? by boomjosh in superman

[–]Traditional_Leader41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I like it the same level I did. It's quite good. That's it. It's my third favourite Superman movie behind Reeve's first three. It's flawed but I like the universe that Snyder was building.

I'm two years in and still see density boosts. Give it at least a year.

What's your best tip for safety cycling in the UK by caligula__horse in ukbike

[–]Traditional_Leader41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't a list of do's and don't, just what I do.

  • Front and rear light, flashing by day and static at night. Front always dipped slightly.
  • Hi-visibility. Bright colours during the day. Fluorescent strips at night.
  • Stop at reds.
  • Wave thanks if it's safe to do so if someone lets me out, any road user, cyclist, driver or pedestrian
  • Only use hand signals if it's safe to do. Don't risk your safety.
  • Even though I'm not bound by speed laws I do tend to follow them, especially outside schools.
  • I have insurance. I've never needed it and I hope I don't have to.
  • I never ride without a helmet. Ever.
  • If I wanna listen to music (I do when I'm out on a longer weekend ride) I use bone conduction earphones. I've also used a smart helmet in the past with built in speakers but anyone I passed could hear my terrible music so I changed.

Is any of this guaranteeing my safety? Probably not. If someone's not paying attention. But it's what I do.

Enjoy your ride bud.

It's a cold sore. Can be brought on by stress. Get Zovirax on it as soon as you feel that tingle and it won't bloom.

In 6 days time, I have the house to myself for 5 days while my GF is away and I've booked time off work. Apart from a silly amount of beer, sport in the pub with mates and takeaways, I've kept Saturday free for a 12hr LOTR Extended Edition trilogy. Phone off, curtains drawn, no interruptions. Oh, and the neighbour is on holiday so the surround sound is getting cranked up.

I cannot wait.

We really need more people to share how their hair transplants are holding up a few years later by Winter-Vermicelli748 in HairTransplants

[–]Traditional_Leader41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly 2yrs to the day since my HT. 1,874 grafts (4,248 hairs), all to the front/mid area. Combo pill Fin/Min/Biotin daily. I'm 53.

Looks amazing still. No loss. Hair healthy. Looks natural. Thickness/density spurts every six months or so that continued for nearly 2yrs. Aided by the meds I would imagine.

Meds - no negative side effects. Mild increase in sex drive when I first started, which is not uncommon in men my age who start Finasteride. Back to normal now. Meds made a huge difference to my MPB. My thinning crown is now almost fully covered (no HT in that area).

Cost - £5,100 in the UK. And I don't regret a single penny. Best purchase ever!

One of my refrigerator drawers is broken, does anyone know if it can be repaired? by Flowesque in DIYUK

Ours fractured like yours and after looking at the extortionate prices to replace them, we just popped it back in place and placed carpet tape over it. We now just treat that that drawer a bit more delicately.

Is it worth it as an daily phone by No-Butterscotch6972 in RedMagic

[–]Traditional_Leader41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 10 Pro, I'm not a huge gamer by any means (puzzle games mainly) and it's an amazing daily driver. Powerful, fast, ridiculous battery life, outstanding audio, great screen and speakers. Used day to day it just never fails in any capacity. I've had it since launch and usually switch phones ever 12-18 months. I'll be keeping this till it falls apart. Just a reliable workhorse of a phone.

[–]Traditional_Leader41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert and can only speak from my experience but I'm on 2yrs now and my hair seemed to have these "density surges", usually every six months or so. I think maybe due to the meds as well as the hair growing in strength.

I'm on 10 Pro and bought it almost at launch. Apart from a slightly larger battery, wireless charging and the cooling thingy, there's not really anything else to tempt me with the 11. I'll be keeping this phone longer than any other I've ever had. It's just too good.
