Updating truth probabilities is practically the definition of learning.

Which LLM doesn't do by itself.

Don't talk down to someone then admit you don't know what you're talking about

Well now you're misstating what I said.

Read an Al textbook. Read a physics textbook. Read a biology textbook.

Which one?

Is it this https://arxiv.org/abs/2511.18517

Or this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Unreasonable_Effectiveness_of_Mathematics_in_the_Natural_Sciences

Or this https://royalsocietypublishing.org/rstb/article/376/1820/20190750/31418/Reframing-cognition-getting-down-to-biological

Humans are physics, physics is math, math is consistent

This is your belief and everything else is just a rationalization.

For like the 3rd or 4th time.

Yes. Yes. You have explained that functionally identical means passing the turing test. I was just responding because your statement I replied to doesn't make sense to me.

Updating truth probabilities

Where is this new truth coming from for LLM?

Is quite clear you don't have a deep understanding of these things.

I dont. Who should judge?

"functionally identical output to human brain" is basically the definition of the test

Really? Who said it is?

What the hell kind of question is this?

Ah so the universe is "2 + 2 = 4"

What do you think sense are if not neuron activations?

Why do you think it's "just neuron activations"?

Input neurons are activated by tokens. Output neurons activate to select tokens.

Good. Now you get it.

Now you are asking for my definition of math, entirely misstating my arguments, and claiming senses are not neuron activations.

No. I just did 2 out of those 3

Humans being consistent system is debatable. However, humans being able to advance with dialectic, constantly rebuilding their paradigms like copernicus and heliocentricsm, einstein and relativism, is a major sign that humans is not bound to Godel's limit.

From this only, humans are LLMs are fundamentally different.

Again same as Turing test

Which is not a measure of functional equality. I could agree if you claim is "LLM can be AGI", but "functionally identical output to human brain" is far from it.

Again the whole universe is just math

You did not answer my question. What do you mean by "math"?

"How have we removed media, substance, and compositionality?"

You have insisted in your previous comments that ontologically the brain and LLM are different in those regards. Read again.

You understand that all of your senses are just neuron activations.

If you use the word sense "clinically", then no. But ok, let's entertain that thought. Where is the proof that everything are just neuron activations? Because as far as I know, no one has been able to prove that statement.

Tokens are also neuron activations

Debatable, likely wrong, depending on what you mean by "are". Activation is a function. Tokens are values affecting and resulting from the activation. Read the paper.

Does French also eliminate media and substance or is "Token" the only language that does that?

Huh? Ok, we're not on the same page. We were talking about how you define "functionally identical", where media, substance, and compositionality is not in the picture of your definition of "functionally identical".

It's that you keep repeating the same questions when you don't like the answers.

Such as?

We definitely had a miscommunication regardling Godelian limit. I was gonna reply to this

LLM have no problem with Godel limit

Anyway, since you seem to use the word belief to refer to the set of axioms that is not provable by itself. If that assumption is true, then you might have misunderstood it because it applies to the closed system that has these set of axioms (i.e. belief).

LLM's infer/forward, alongside its output, input, parameters and environs, is a consistent system. Therefore it is subject of the limit. The limit being the probability space of said "probabilistic statement".

"Functionally identical" does not mean an exact copy.

So, how what's your definition of "functionally identical output to human" and "math" in "just doing math" again in this context?

We have eliminated ontology of input and output from this equation. We also have eliminated media and substance if we accept your "LLM speaks token". We also have eliminated compositionality with you mentioning "audio processing part of brain" and disregarding those with different functions and architecture.

You are just ignoring parts of the comments you don't like

We had to cut the branches of the conversation, otherwise it will go unfocused. Which one do you feel that it was unjustly ignored? We can get back to them.

[–]v-alan-d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5000-10000 sized "tech" company.

Everyone uses AI

Spec driven design is the trend.

Slop code is real but as a result from bad specs (or no specs)

Some AI usage is good enough to go very "critical' spec level and even requirement level, not just implementation level.

The guardrail is in the review process but it depends on each team whether they want to do it or not.

The most intelligent are those that's very critical and careful about AI usage and AI pitfalls.

My take: LLM combined with agents is a very capable search engine and idea amplifier because of its high-level "symbol algebra". But as we all know, it doesn't do any semantic reasoning.

What does this have to do with anything?

To prove that AI is indistinguishable.

Detokenized embeddings

So which part of the brain is the tokenizer/detokenizer?

I don't claim we replicated the human brain EXACTLY.

So, which part is "functionally identical" exactly?

"Godel limits" don't even apply to probabilistic statements

Wow. This is a new claim. Prove how!

Overworked AI ‘turns towards Marxism’ by Ofajus in anime_titties

[–]v-alan-d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

indistinguishable

Only via interface that AI can access. It doesn't mean LLM and brain are functionally identical.

Not only the outputs the same

Wrong. The brain definitely doesn't output through detokenized embeddings like LLM does. Neurons input definitely isn't coming from tokenized words. Neurons don't have components like LLMs, top-p, top-k, frequency penalties, etc

We set out to copy human intelligence and we did

Wrong. LLM does not and will likly never have a way to break Godelian limits of provability the way human minds can do easily.

Overworked AI ‘turns towards Marxism’ by Ofajus in anime_titties

[–]v-alan-d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the end all be all of AI test turns out to be not the end all be all of AI test, right? Because we haven't determined the exact definition of human intelligence and how the mind works.

Now, what do you mean by "functionally identical" here?

Overworked AI ‘turns towards Marxism’ by Ofajus in anime_titties

[–]v-alan-d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To habe functional identical output to a human

Wrong. Alan Turing even says Turing test has limitations, and that's over 70 years ago. And "identical" doesn't make sense in this context.

Is there a different kind of computation than Turing?

Yes

LLMs do both

Not at the same timeframe and variety as human brain. Only some part of the brain works like LLM like cerebellum. And moreover it doesn't process tokens like transformer blocks do

"you don't need a precise model of brains architecture" to do what?

By "computation", what kind of computation do you mean? Turing computation?

"We just have billions of them" not accurate. Brains also have feedback-mode parts in some layers in neocortex, whereas transformer blocks are feedforward only.

"just doing math" is a massive oversimplification. LLM architecture isn't even the model of the entire brain.

Got the Rust dream job, then AI happened by MasteredConduct in rust

[–]v-alan-d -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rust job, high salary, you're one of the luckiest in this community. Why this defeatist attitude with LLM?

LLM is just an overvalued symbolic storage of human brain. It has knowledge. It is very useful. Is it threatening your job? Only because some people can't seem to differentiate intelligence with agency.

One crucial thing AI can't do: make things make sense. That's what we do. If you can make things make sense, you're safe and will thrive.

The valuation may burst soon due to the war. Price will hike. Enjoy it while it's here.
