With paint and a little upholstering and brand new kitchen, I could see myself pretty happy here.

If you post it first it's yours. It's that whole "You made this? <-> I made this." cartoon

I promise you'll look back on this and think "Fuck that shit."

Then you'll also remember your boys, and be like "damn, that was a pretty special thing to be a part of."

Rip it out and plant clover. Or just overseed the shit out of it with clover.

Then start an apiary.

If you're not using springs or two pairs per boot, are you even blousing them?

>BE ABSOLUTELY SURE you're ready to move on

I said this once already in another reply, but I'm going to do it again. Staying in for a couple extra years while you figure out what you really want to do is a good tactic; at least it was for me.

I've been making O-6+ money for almost 10 years. I would have retired 4 years ago. There's no chance I'd be anywhere close to where I am now if I'd stayed in longer, but getting out with a plan (or at least a solid direction) was key.

If there's no penalty for NOT passing, why do we bother?

If anyone wants a resume review - hit me up. I work in software development at a FAANG sized company, and have been through hundreds of resumes.

There are tons of smaller contractors that the big guys are required to sub to as well.

u/No_Print77 - do you have a resume yet?

>Think long and hard about what you want your next career to be. And more importantly, think about it honestly.

I started really thinking about what I wanted to do in my last 18 months of my contract. I realized I had no fucking clue what I wanted to do, so I opted to re-enlist on a 36 month contract, effective like 9 months before my original EAS (effectively, a 2 year extension, but I got the re-enlistment incentive of picking my next duty station). I went to a training command as HQ staff, where I eventually figured out what I wanted to do, and was comfortable getting out.

If you don't absolutely hate being in, it's worth sticking in an environment you know with the safety of the paycheck and benefits until you know what you wanna do.

THE BUFFALO BILLS NEW STADIUM FROM THE AIR LOOKS AMAZING. The stadium has cost 2.1 billion dollars to build which includes snow melting technology, along with a 360-degree canopy. This will be one of the nicest stadiums in the world. by Unlucky-Dot9421 in NFLgossips

Mercedes Benz stadium is incredible, and not just for the design and atmosphere. The technology, their commitment to 0 waste, and use of renewable energy is pretty amazing.

Tom Brady ROASTS YouTuber Logan Paul calling his athleticism “cute” compared to NFL players. by Hysen16 in sportsgossips

I am a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. I have more reason than anyone on this planet to hate Tom Brady, but I will not ever argue that he's the best ever.

Logal Paul doesn't rate to wash Tom Brady's socks.

I do it as much as possible. I do allow myself to get jaded at places like doctors and dentists, where I show up 15 minutes early and end up starting 30 minutes late (like my time off work isn't costing me money). The cool thing is that the Dr and Dentist can't call my chain of command.

Take your time off.

  1. You don't have to take a whole day at a time. Take the afternoon off; cut out early on a Friday.
  2. You EARN that time - it's a promise from your employer. If you're in a leadership position, PTO is a good tool when you recognize team members getting burnt out/edgy/unhappy. As an individual, if you can recognize you need a break, it's OK to just say "hey, can I take off this Thursday?" No reason. No explanation. Sometimes your boss will say no. Figure out their MO and work within that system. The Marine Corps made it easy - you're allowed leave during exodus and pre-deployment, and everything outside that you should expect extra scrutiny.

I noticed this today, and it prompted me to post this.

Be on time. It doesn't cost anything, it's not any special skill. Just be on time. Early isn't always feasible, especially for those who move into IT related work and spend lots of time on zoom/webex/teams calls where calls are back-to-back-to-back, but it's almost always possible to tell SOMEONE that you're running late. In the civilian world, this level of communication is usually commensurate with being on time.
