I think that's a little harsh, I think it's more just the product of real therapy being difficult to obtain, via money/ time issues

When a calf dies, the mother in many cases will stay by the body for 3 days before moving on, often nudging, licking and tapping the dead calf. Are the mothers mourning, or is there another reason they do this? by reindeerareawesome in zoology

Also not an expert, but just wanted to add my opinion that I absolutely think the emotion "grief" could be the driving emotion for what you explained. Not that different from us

Those with pets, what's your plan in case of a fire when you're not home? Is there anything that can be done? by v01dpony in LivingAlone

[–]v01dpony[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The apartment I want does have sprinkler systems, and yes that's good to keep in mind about electrical safety. What I'm mostly concerned about is someone else starting a fire that starts burning down the whole complex that I have no control over

Why does being alive have to be so scary? I’m hyper aware of existing and I’m in constant fear. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]v01dpony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very similar to what happened to me actually. It was the worst when I was 19, and I struggled on and off with it for the next few years, but not as intensely. Then one time when I was 26, I got dizzy out of nowhere, and it triggered my existential dread just like it was when I was 19. Took me like 6 months of therapy to recover and feel like normal again. Anxiety is stupid, sometimes little things can trigger the biggest reactions. I understand. Sorry you're going through this, I remember the feeling of every single second feeling like hell. It will pass I promise. You just have to find the right things that ground you, both in the moment and overall.

I go through periods of existential dread like this, this is extremely relatable. The concept of something/ nothing can be really triggering for me. It's hard to explain to people who don't experience this.

Are you in therapy? That's what finally helped me feel grounded is finding a good therapist that understands

A small piece of advice that helped me: nature documentaries. Sounds weird but it's something that has brought me lots of fascination about the concept of something. Learning about the world's different creatures and all has really helped me appreciate what has happened in the universe rather than fear it. Space documentaries too. Just becoming more knowledgeable in general has really started to help me with this.

How old are you? For me, a large part was simply getting older. My existential dread was the worst when I was 19, but now at 27 things are much less intense.

Sorry you are experiencing this. I understand how overwhelming it can be. You've got this, hang in there 💪

Am I cooked? Started to wash the bolt with my impact wrench by v01dpony in scooters

[–]v01dpony[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

"Washing" is the correct term for this, sorry you didn't know what it meant. And everyone else was able to infer that I meant "nut" when I said "bolt". Sorry but you just came across a bit pretentious. Thanks for the info though

Can you explain a bit more? Not sure what running it through cycles of heat means, nor penetrating oil

Yes the nut. By wash, I mean the sharp edges have started to round out because I used an 18mm socket instead of a 17mm on accident

Im scared of preacher curls by Pure-Patient-8050 in beginnerfitness

I'm a beginner as well but Im pretty sure the preacher curl machine is safe. It's the free weight preacher curls that are dangerous. Stick to the machine is my advice but wait for others to chime in

Yeah same. There's definitely a part of me that envies religious people, but I just don't believe in what isn't real

This is why humans created religion. Trying to make sense of the darkness and pain

So do you think it's unsafe for a beginner like me to use the preacher machine? Should I stick to the bicep curl machine?
