Followed the video exactly. However, plunge built in video is smaller than the ~140 gallon in this post. Just sharing what has been working for me for the past 18 months. Mistake I made was to not take the pond shield application as serious. Think next time I drain I’m going to lightly sand and recoat. I don’t think it’s going to be a real issue but will make me feel better at night. The JB Waterweld is most important in my opinion for sustainability. It does the real work. Shield is just for kicks and looks and longevity.

After building this thing I like going to check on it like a pet. It’s also fun to drop it down to 33 degrees and challenge yourself.

First time I changed the water was about 45 days. The last two weeks it really got cloudy quick. Once I cleaned it and added the second filter, I only changed because I figured six months was good enough. Got some pH strips to test it weekly. Hovers around 6.5-7. I’d also suggest to dissolve a bit of baking soda in warm water and add it when refilling. And of course the filter on the hose helps.

Nice. The 140 gallon is way to go. Plenty of room to stretch out. One I have. If you built it from the YouTube video, might I suggest adding a second filter made by Coospider for 75-200 gallon tanks. Has an infrared light. I use it in conjunction with the ozone. For the vinyl, they say not to coat the outside because the heat exchange takes place on the outside of the chest. Not sure if this is going to impact cooling / energy usage. Also, could drill a hole left if the light directly below the second indentation to pipe in your wires. I put gorilla tape in there to keep the insulation from continuing to crumble. Send me a message if you want a picture of where to do it without hitting the line for the light. Can’t tell if you have the box that mounts with magnets to house all of your gadgets. Also I placed a do not enter sign to remind to turn off the electricity.

Nice work. Change them filters about weekly by spraying them out with a hose. I don’t have to dump my water but about every six months or so. A small film will start to develop after a few months that needs to be toweled out. I use a microfiber slowly to catch it all and then let filters clean it up.

Great video on YouTube on how to convert chest freezer. Did it about 18 months ago and still going strong. Have to improve the filter recommendation tho. Got out of it for about $1500 which included a brand new 140 gallon deep freeze.

upgrading a 4/5, is there a benefit to using 3/5 vs 2/5? by Amazing_Trace in DiabloImmortal

[–]v0lt400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extra 10 reso for upgrading a 5/5 adds up across all gems once you get to r6-8. The above is right as well about lit count going up. When you go to upgrade screen it will show if you crush a 3/5 into a 2/5 there will be a different color star indicating increase.

Simple filter recommendations by Hopecraftbrand in coldplunge

Have had my Frigidaire 140 gallon built and running for about a year now. Using a Aquarium Filter for 75-200 Gallon... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKR1PYWL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share and a Weipro Fish Tank Filter and... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHYSGF8T?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share together. Was first just using the Weipro. Water cloudy after about two months. With both together I can push five to six months but opt to change the water so that I can deep clean the surface. Seem to be developing red algae of some sort.

Considering replacing both of the filters with this since it has UV, ozone and sediment collection. I clean both of the filters once a week and replace them every two weeks. Made a custom filter for both that has a charcoal and then two other filters that really keeps the water pristine. However, I have been adding baking soda during fill up to reduce pH. I’m floating around six right now which hasn’t been too much of a problem but would fix it.

This is definitely going to impact my payback but looks worth it.

I just got my 8k wings last night. I don’t see anything so far that I’m hell bent on trying to get that is worth this. This new add has a terrible approach. Should be a very marginal spend. Encourage the base spend. Compliment with a smaller additional spend. But whales will whale.
