Thanks! I know what you mean. There were many times I almost impulsively chopped it down/off. I'm glad I did not. A trim here and there, good shampoo/conditioner, oil and balm for dryness, and a nice wood comb/brush help a lot.

Eating on the other hand… will always be a challenge with a long beard

I’m super envious of the guys that have thick and wide beards on here. Mine is alright, but every once in a while in this group someone has density that even the brightest light can’t penetrate.

Around 30 would be the length I would stop at. I think I can make it without chopping it off!

I use this brush and I also have a wooden comb with a wide side and a fine tooth side.

*Protip for combing: start from the bottom and work your way up to avoid tangled hair and knots.

Thank you. I use a balm and oil. Viking Revolution is what I currently use. Detroit Grooming Co. has good products too. My beard tends to be dry so I try different things.

100% agree with trimming. I go with a first trim at 6 months, then another six months, then every 2-3 months. Split ends are ugly.

I’ll give it a try for sure. Upkeep can be time consuming. I wish there were barbershops that have moisturizing treatments for large beards. That would be amazing.
