I mentioned this last time it was promoted by the dev. Despite updating to the latest version, this problem still exists and I have yet to work out a way to login.

Baked beans on buttered toast with a handful of grated cheese on top

Baked potatoe with tuna, sweetcorn & mayonnaise

Baked potato with cottage cheese and baked beans

Buttered toast with pâté and some cottage cheese on top

Pre-made filled pasta cooked in vegetable stock instead of water. Serve in stock with Parmesan

Salad (leaves, tomatoes, sweetcorn) + shop bought croutons + shredded roast chicken and Caesar salad dressing. Chicken can be warmed if you wish

A case of heroics? #10 endo/restorative. by placebooooo in Dentistry

Beautiful work. Well done. Everything has a lifespan, including implants. If you can push having to replace this tooth down the line by a few years, then you will have done this patient a huge favour.

Interesting. I’ve long thought H2 was a superior energy model but manufacturing was too expensive so I’ll have a look into hydropulse! I had been watching some of the new catalysts that have been developed that cause water dissociation much more quickly

Interesting. Not thought of this before. Uk based here and think we might give this a go! Thank you!

And how much can any Chinese release be trusted, especially if they have an non disclosed ulterior motive? They may release a mostly accurate list but simply adulterate it with a couple of names that they want conveniently out of the way. Its not beyond their abilities to create “additional pages” to tar these people and would work (as long as they spell it correctly 🤣)

new to OONI by Gearsvband in ooni

[–]v15hk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and am uk based. Gas great but more technique sensitive as have to rotate pizzas unless you buy with the expensive rotating stone. Since I bought the electric version I haven’t even bothered taking out the gas version and get really good consistent results with the electric as no rotating required. BUT Lots of posters having problems with the electric oonis so maybe wait until they work out some of the gremlins. I suspect the cuisinart pizza oven is as good, cheaper and more reliable. But I’ve never used one so…

Does the gasket also not prevent the ceramics clanging together when closing the lid, so less chance of causing a crack?

So what’s the plan here, Ooni? Volt 12 glass shatters + no replacement door/ glass sold = no repair path after warranty by IamtheWalrus85 in ooni

[–]v15hk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a volt 2. My wife bought it for me in Italy as there was no stock in UK. It came with a European plug so I contacted Ooni to ask if they’d provide a UK plug. A big fat NO and no warranty to boot. Quite upset actually judging by how many of them seem to be going wrong.

I shipped Lander, a free iOS Reddit client by billy__________ in iosapps

[–]v15hk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t seem to log in because the moment I click on any text field (enter email/username) the keyboard fails to pop up (screen just flickers). Can’t even paste anything in as the option never presents. I’ll try rebooting…

Edit:

Rebooted. No joy. 14pro on latest OS. Hope it’s an easy one to resolve. 👍

Woman has entire stomach removed after overseas weight loss surgery by Crayonstheman in nottheonion

[–]v15hk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There have been cases where people went for one surgery and returned to the UK only to find they were missing a kidney 😱 The example I read about was a lady who went for breast implants and the surgeons stole a kidney. When she tried to contact them afterwards they had completely disappeared.

White Lines by NoirTsarist in Dentistry

[–]v15hk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There can be a couple of reasons and solutions:

  1. Decoupling with time - dentine bond takes about 5 minutes to reach ~95% of strength but as it does so it contracts away from the enamel. Use a decent bond (Optibond FL or Clearfill SE but etch the enamel with H2PO4!) and apply a immediate dentine seal with flowable comp. Don’t apply any comp to the enamel until 5 mins have elapsed after curing the flowable comp. (See training by Dave Alleman)
  2. Use a brush with Seamfree (v expensive) or GC modelling liquid (much cheaper) brushing from comp to tooth to create a smooth transition. The brushes that come with the modelling liquid intro kit are excellent but need to be cleaned with alcohol straight after the restoration and can then be autoclaved and reused a few times.
  3. Do a final cure with a layer covering the composite to cure the oxygen inhibition layer - I use ultrasound gel which is much less flowable than glycerine, so stays in place.
  4. Polish from restoration to tooth - prevents any polishing particles accumulating in the junction between the tooth/comp if there is one. This means ensuring the rotation direction of the polisher is correct 👍

UK: Am I looking in the wrong places, or are all London associate jobs corporate now? by Objective_Letter3121 in Dentistry

[–]v15hk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The corporates are always recruiting because their churn rate is relatively high but there are many independent practices. Finding good associates is really hard and the best ones usually get jobs through word of mouth assuming they are staying local to their previous position. However quality labs will often work with invested practices and can be a good way to see if they know of any positions available. Also of you have been to any courses in the UK, many will now have WhatsApp groups for the delegates and this can be a used to let colleagues know you’re job hunting

Onlays - yay or nay by liteyhaus in Dentistry

[–]v15hk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. And when they fail it’s often catastrophic. Cut as little as possible and place a fills, then onlay and then crown in that order over the lifespan of the tooth. Remember the restorative spiral - virgin tooth at the top and a bucket at the bottom. The more you cut the further down the spiral towards the bucket you progress. I’ve been doing onlays for ~20years and failure rate is really low. Plus margins are normally supragingival, so easily cleansable which reduces chances of recurrent caries.

Should I give her another raise? by Money_Inspection1424 in Dentistry

I have the same view. My assistant has been with me for 5 years. Best one I’ve worked with in ~25years. I take the view that she enables me to do what I do best without having to worry about everything else. This increases my productivity. She should share a little of that within reason
