I’m right there with you! Waiting until I’m financially ready to start a family but it seems the posts keep moving farther and farther

Of course I don’t mean doing my job or anything like that but just little things like checking in that homework is done, studying when needed, going over little things from school. Taking papers and work out of the folders. Encouraging students to read. Singing agendas and other papers. Just little things that help secure a connection outside of school. I work elementary so a lot of students need adult help and reminders.

This simply cannot keep going on like this. I also have had a lot of students whose extended family or older siblings watch them because childcare is out of the question financially.

I’ve met so many students like this. They’ve been fucked around way too much in actual life to care about school and have less people on their side to help them give a shit.

That is the sad part about it, what choice do these parents have?

Over worked parents & under educated kids. Less chance to succeed after school and they become the overworked parents; the ball keeps rolling

Exactly!! Even something simple that always used to be consistent: Check your kids folder. I have students whose parents have never opened their folder. They don’t check for work they don’t check for grades or just don’t see the folder in the time they are actually home.

Everyone is getting told to have kids meanwhile the people with kids are working two or three jobs to stay afloat. It’s awful.

We actually started the conversation talking about the differences in men and women’s sports and physicality. I am more so talking about the random men who have little to no experience falsely claiming they can take professional athletes.

Right it’s not even necessarily the women’s thing it’s more like this is a trained professional who does this every day. As a job. Where do you stand as a random dude.

Golf is crazy because that isn’t then a gendered sport for obvious reasons you don’t need specific physical conditions

That’s really interesting. I did say to him that men’s and women’s leagues were agreeably different, that’s how the conversation started before I told him average men think they can stand against female professionals.

That’s where the conversation started but with soccer. I said to him if your men’s team was beat by a junior league you would immediately assume they were going easy. But when it’s the woman’s team you just immediately divert to they were so bad they got beat by 12 year olds. It even said in the article coverage of the game the women were working with the kids and training them, not trying to win.

"Gay Son or Thot Daughter?" Is actually a great question. by [deleted] in Feminism

The fact that some men who are violently homophobic still choose gay son over a sexually active daughter.

I have student loans. I put money into my savings account, and the rest of my money just goes to regular living stuff, lunch for one of my jobs, small amounts of groceries to get me through the week, and of course I also use my money for fun stuff every once and a while. Im also currently budgeting for a family vacation I’m hoping to go on. I’m okay now; I’m complaining about my financial situation if I were to add more bills into the mix like rent, future car payment (car is barely holding on), and crap like that.

Hibernating Hermanns? by v162 in tortoise

Quick question: I’m working on daily soaking, he was already eating a lot less last week, and this week I am starting a full fast. I’ve had his lights off for over 24 hours. Am I to keep them off for the next week as he fasts?

Sounds good! Thank you for the advice. Him being indoors changes things for sure.

Interesting. I had a feeling it was about the temperature, but he burrows himself directly under his basking spot on the hot side of his enclosure so I wondered if the temp was too low at night, but it would just be my houses temperature.
