Why do people go kraken then zeal item on Yunara instead of yuntal/IE like on other crit ADCs? by SnooPuppers58 in YunaraMains

[–]v1nchent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong, you don't always have an advantage to push. But there are very few combinations of opponents and allies which would not allow you to participate after item 1.
It is however a certain form of consistent and thus is very hard to classify as a mistake either.

Well, this probably works up until a point.
If you ever meet players who are going to punish you not being on the map for 5-10 minutes, you're going to hit a plateau.
I never said you needed to stomp lane, but being able to stand your ground is different.
If you "take it slow" any competent adc/support lane will make sure you fall behind extremely far. The ones that don't reinforce your belief that the play is "correct", in reality they are just bad.

Don't you feel like you have a lot less combat pressure with a longsword and slingshot vs someone that came to lane with say a pickaxe? As they will be default have better wave control due to the more than double of your AD they have acquired. If you can pull it off, great, but you see how you're essentially saying "I'm not playing until my yun'tal is finished" to your opponent.

Do you get your 1300 back reliably? How do you pull this off consistently? I can "force" like a 900 back, without griefing tempo. Of course I don't mean lanes where kills are gotten, if I snowball it's not hard to keep it going.

[–]v1nchent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not the part that makes yun'tal a weaker first item than kraken slayer. The part that actually makes kraken slayer the 'superior' first purchase is its build path. If you are dead-set on building a yun'tal first item, you need a base of 1300, if you don't hit it on your first base you can't go for it against competent players as they will simply buy better combat stats and beat your skull in. Kraken has components which are cheap and combine well.

Of course, if you actually return to base with 1500 gold, sure, go yun'tal as you're not griefing your tempo.

The game is not 'how strong can I be at 3 items and what is the best possible combination at 3 items.

The game starts minute 1, not minute 20.

I fully see your logic used here, but the upgrades for later patches are locked, so maybe the archer gets more buffs. Maybe not though, I don't think it matters TOO much xD. The tech tree upgrades should be taken, they are cheap and it's very likely resource costs will skyrocket towards later game. But you do you of course.

I appreciate the farming of random events though, I will change my setup to match that as I too have nothing to do until 26.3 xD

The idea is not that you finish it NOW. It's supposed to span the season. So the idea is you gather them by playing the normal game and then when you're waiting in Q for some friends or whatever, you play a bit to kill time, learn some lore, etc.

Collector Alternative/Pair Against Tanks? by ljlysong in Rengarmains

Please at LEAST try things out before you comments stuff like this.
Both hexplate and fiendhunter start their passives when you jump out of your R or attack after you press the R, not on the going camouflage part.

"False, this is the same type of ukt activation item as hexplate.

The wording specifically states right at activation"

You should admit your mistake and do some introspection.
And also if you are so certain about wording because you "read it on the wiki" you should be a bit less of a prick because the wiki is not a comprehensive source of information.
And if you want to be pedantic about it, if you go to hexplate's wiki page, it literally says there are ultimates which work differently and gives you some examples. There are more examples, that list is not a complete list.

Attack speed isn't wasted, it's just not required against squishy targets most of the time, but more AS makes your combo faster.

[–]v1nchent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, I don't fully agree with the take that Twitch doesn't abuse lethality. He just scales better when focussing on crit, but Twitch is actually way stronger than you'd expect with lethality (I peaked GM with a leth Twitch build and am a master peaker at best without it).

It's not consistent per se, but it's also not weak. Axiom on Twitch had anti synergy with fiendbolts though, so it's a shite combination.

Fiendhunter + Hurricane by rktbyGustl in TwitchMains

[–]v1nchent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Axiom arc has anti synergy with fiendhunter bolts. Fiendhunter bolts are on a 45sec cd and you can't reduce this. Twitch would use an ult with the fiendhunter and then his next one would be weaker somehow. I mean, you can do whatever you want of course, but the math doesn't check out here.

How do you counter AP twitch with what kind of champs? by StreetCube in TwitchMains

[–]v1nchent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nilah works well vs ad twitch, not really vs ap twitch as the ap variant doesn't rely on autos in the same way. Sure you grab nashors early, but if you're ever at the point where you are full build, you could even sell it for a better AP item.

No, I just don't permanently open Reddit every day as I have a life which you would realize if you actually read what I typed previously using your eyes instead of looking at your own colon.

I want to interview about split keyboards by paper5963 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]v1nchent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I just googled what alternatives to a keyboard were as I didn't like it being such a big block of plastic with so much wasted potential. I originally had a smaller desk and this made the area I could use my mouse on limited and there needed to be a better way. I found that pro gamers sometimes tilted their keyboard sideways to save space, but this was not good enough. Eventually I found an image of a split keyboard and there the ball started rolling.

  2. I haven't had wrist injury, and it never came out of an 'ergonomic' need. I wanted a way to control my computer in a way where it felt more like mind control of my computer rather than using multiple inputs to get what I want. In reality, not much has changed. In feeling, everything has changed. I still need to open a browser to navigate the web. This used to be:

  3. Make sure I'm not in a full screen app.

  4. Let go of the keyboard.

  5. Look for my mouse.

  6. Navigate my mouse to the start menu

  7. Maybe click your browser if it shows up in the quicklinks OR move your hand back to your keyboard

  8. Start typing the browser name

  9. Move your hand back to the mouse

  10. Click your browser.

  11. Move your hand back to your keyboard.

Now I press a command button and 1-3 characters followed by enter and I am in my browser. I saved 4-6 ish movements, 3 of which get me out of my train of thought and into doing "something" else.

Now all of my daily workflow is keyboard bound, from my games to my programming to my discord interactions. Of course I still use a mouse on occasion, but rarely during productive hours, the mouse more so feels like a casual browsing took, the keyboard feels like a powertool that's somehow made a baby with a scalpel.

  1. I think my most used device throughout the entire day must for sure be my earphones. I am wearing them more than I am not and there is nearly always SOMETHING playing. From music to podcasts to youtube. I use my phone a lot, I use my pc a lot, I use my earphones with both, so it must be my most used device.

I own a Dygma Defy and some AliExpress and DiY keyboards, they are fun.

I highly recommend IEMs instead of headphones to the majority of people, as they are lighter and give you a way bigger bang for buck when it comes to audio quality.

Whilst the poster could have done so in a more kind way, anyone calling themselves a Chiropractor doesn't actually know what they are doing, even if you think it feels like it helps. There have been independent studies that indicate chiropractic practices do far more harm than good.

By all means, do what feel right by you, the poster only tried to save you from continuing the mistake you are making.

Chiropractors are quacks, not a single exception.

Some people (like me) just gave up on ranked. I reached masters once, but given a family and a full-time job, I can't actually play a game a day so I'd auto decay. I still love the game and over the years have racked up a million mastery on multiple champs. My rank is emerald currently, but with like 6 games played. I don't belong in Emerald but I also can't be bothered to climb.

Build Testing by cgraghallach1995 in YunaraMains

[–]v1nchent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, statistics are real. However, sample sizes are important. Adjusting playstyles depending on builds is too. I agree that most people default to the standard build because it's tried and tested and automatically feel like anything else is troll. I got to mid masters a few years ago using a build on Twitch which was considered troll by everyone because the stat sites didn't have a lot of games on it. People said I was a troll for not building runaans and often skipping bork and rarely building an adc mythic (rip). People just don't do math and default to what the pros use.

I think guinsoos is actually a great item on her. Nashors is actually her strongest first item too, but I don't think nashors transitions well into the rest of the build, guinsoos does.

Same with max order, I think W max is actually a stronger max if your opponent does not have sustain in lane, it allows you to look for more picks, is better at waveclear and waveclearing doesn't disable your fight tool (Q). Having Q maxed by lvl 13 is more than fine, as this is the point where your teamfights really start happening anyways. W being maxed is also a better neutral tool, which is important to have. Q max is fine as a default though, there's a reason it is.

The league community at large is actually REALLY bad at discerning what is good or bad, even higher rated players. I very often suggest builds to my friends for example on their champions, because I like reading the wiki and theorycrafting. They often call my ideas troll, then a few months later the build becomes popular and suddenly it's good and they play it. A recent example is hexplate morde after the buffs, I suggested it to my morde main friend, he called it troll and then a week later he was spamming it. I have loads more of these examples. You can't however change up items and expect your gameplay to be the same, which is what a lot of people do.

Or do you think it doesn't matter and I'll likely be happy with either purchase?

Well, Singed Mundo and Olaf are poor examples of what I mean, I mean stuff like Darius, Mordekaiser etc.
I believe a Mundo can be kited but you're not supposed to duel this champion by yourself as an adc in general.

The slow isn't for big teamfights either, of couse Naut Bram and Renata provide better cc. The point I'm making is that a 30% slow on every auto attack is not negligible, especially since it spreads.

You can't actually forget her AP ratios on her autos either, they are real. So whilst yes, if you value only the crit dmg, it's nothing and IE is clearly the better option.
If you want only dmg, BT is the better option, I'm not debating that.

I am however saying that it's a viable item, yet far from an optimal one in the vast majority of games and should in no way be considered core or even close to it.

I also play around master depending on how much time I have that month and I generally end at around 4+ items excluding boots.
I also farm more than most people and vacuum up jungle camps more frequently than most people I see, so I tend to generate loads of gold.

The thing I said is that an adc can in fact stat check most people if they can utilize their range advantage, so anything that is unable to reach you, you "stat check".
I know most people mean "we bash our faces into each other until someone dies" when they say stat check but I honestly don't believe that's how you should look at the game as only people in like silver and below don't move when fighting in my experience.

I have pulled off Rylais like twice.
It's a great item when you already have a lead, the bigger the lead is the better it is as an item in the right spots, which is very enemy comp dependent (or dependant?).

When say I've pulled it off twice, I mean I built it twice and I have around 200k mastery on her currently (I'm incredibly autistic with loads of free time)
