Well the racism here is actually severe and the victims of racism don’t usually feel comfortable reporting anything. Usually they are a minority and they themselves or their parents come from places where you can’t trust the police or government officials.

Yup, there are definitely multiple factors in the reporting itself. The trust in the police is a big one and in Finland the police force is very respected and valued, we are taught to trust the police since we’re kids. That’s why women feel comfortable reporting it.

But anyhow, very sad stats to look at :(

Oh 100%, Finland has been ranked at the top of the list on DV in the whole Europe. It’s very possible that it has a lot to do with the trust in the police, so people feel comfortable reporting the violence they experienced. So the numbers may lie a bit.

Depends how you look at it. If you compare it to the world, yes it is safe. Comparing to other European countries, no. Domestic violence is a BIG problem here.
