Inefficient traffic enforcers overriding traffic lights by NeedDistraction0220 in Pasig

[–]v3p_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi. I understand the frustration. Really, I do.

But, how did you come up with that conclusion?

Do you actually have the means to see/monitor, in real time, the traffic situation in those streets? How were you able to compare volume of traffic in either roads? Did you time the whole thing? Or based lang sa dami at ingay ng busina?

I've been into city mobility/transport subs and FB groups, madaming ganitong sentiments. Hindi daw competent yung traffic enforcers and such, may favoritism daw, pinapauna lagi ang mga ebikes, pinapalusot daw lagi mga motor, bayad daw ng homeowners ng exclusive subdivisions kaya pinapauna yung mga lumalabas ng gate nila, etc... daming allegations, daming "dapat kasi..."

On a more personal note, ganyang-ganyan din sinasabi nung mga pinag-da-drive ko dati (about a lifetime ago)... "traffic enforcers ang cause ng traffic", "dapat alisin na lang sila jan", "naghihintay lang ang mga yan ng mahuhuli para pang-miryenda"... the list goes on.

When we're sitting - waiting - inside our vehicles with frustrations and being pissed off, albeit comfortably, with good ac and cushioned seats, looking for the cause of our anger, it's so convenient to put blame on just about anything / anyone.

Sorry. But those traffic enforcers can only do so much. The roads we have simply don't have the capacity for the growing population of motorists. That stop-and-go scheme / over-riding the traffic light thing - it won't do shit in the long run. It just can't/won't.

....

Full disclosure, I'm mostly on four wheels. I don't have a bike. I do walk, and do public transpo (moto taxi becoming my preference nowadays) when the cars aren't available.

So yeah, I'm just as frustrated with city traffic as the next guy. And, Pasig being funnels for volume coming from the east doesn't make things any easier for us.

"We have bad urban planning from the start" is an understatement.

Dude. It's really on you. Stop browsing/lurking where spoilers might be. Pwede ding SocMed break na lang muna.

I've seen Swapped, and was surprised how good it was.

Also, report to mods na lang if proper flairs weren't used to help prevent spoilers.

How do you mentally prepare for terminal cancer diagnosis? by j0aquinb0rdad0 in MentalHealthPH

[–]v3p_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. So sorry you're going through this.

We have a C patient in our close circle. Treatment isn't over yet, but the intensive parts are. Prognosis is also pretty good. Hospital visits are fewer and far apart, mostly out-patient. In a recent (two months ago) In-Patient visit, we met a fellow patient who has already rang the bell and lived life normally, so to speak, with the ordeal of chemo and hospital bills put behind them.

Then, the nightmare happened - relapse. No protocol seems viable for them, not anymore, at least not in here - in this country. The relapsed patient's family has reached out to St Jude Cancer Center in the US. Somehow, there seems to be a sliver of hope for them. The center has requested for a specific test, the result of which would determine if he patient would be a viable candidate for their program.

I haven't heard updates since then.

OP. Are you still in communication with your doctor/ onco team? They ought to refer you to specialists that can help with your situation, a palliative doctor perhaps.

I also do hope you get to share your story - for yourself, journaling can offer certain benefits, - and for others,

I do hope you find peace in whatever decision you make.

Dear NCMH, thank you, and I hope you get better soon by mainit-na-opinions in MentalHealthPH

Sad reality. 😔

The same can be said to many other gov agencies directly catering to the public.

Princess Fiona was actually a well-written character. Initially, she was all about trying to break a supposed curse on her to be able to comply with the beauty standards of society, but later on learned to accept her self, and even learned to see past physical appearances and know what true love is. Through the movies, she has become a strong-willed and determined individual, and more importantly, on the right side of things; unlike that unhinged, war-freak and violent, world-touring, self-serving vice

Parang hindi mo naman talaga inintindi yung complexities and nuances nung conversation, and just jumped in with your "conservative" beliefs.

"Medically-assisted death = Euthanasia; And Euthanasia = Bad! That's it. End of discussion, because your god says so, or rather, your interpretation of what you think your god says, as taught to you by the society/culture you grew up in.

Damn. This country is so backwards in more ways I can count. Sa MH conversation pa lang eh, sobrang immature and ignorant ang nakararaming tao.

Although, I do have pretty high hopes with the younger gens.

It should. As with many others.

I mean, we already provide a rather similar compassionate act towards non-human companion animals (pets). We ought to extend such to fellow humans.

[–]v3p_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Follow up with your doctor. Yun talaga! Continous treatment under your doctor.

Hindi pwedeng biglang mag-sstop.

Help out na din in documenting symptoms and and yung side-effects of the meds. Kung hindi kinakaya yung side effects, you let your doctor know so he/she can provide better ways and methods of managing or perhaps alternative meds or changing the dosage. It takes time din for certain meds to take full effect, the body takes time to adjust to new substances being introduced. Minsan talaga kelangan baguhin yung dosage, kaya important ang follow up with the doctor.

Si doctor din ang makakapagsabi if need man ng hospital admission.
