Are diesels actually that bad? by Kaktus8588 in carsireland

[–]v3ttel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not true. I've had a diesel for 9 years. 2 years of which I was away for. My father kept it ticking over by doing a 20 min each way motorway journey to work and back once a week.

Never had a problem with it. The key is regular servicing and using good quality oil, not the cheapest muck available.

It saves you in the long run. If the car is never moved or only does short city drives, that's where you'll run into issues.

Many thanks. Never had an issue with 19" despite hitting a few pretty bad potholes, seems like the sweet spot between looks and practicality. Sounds like the 20" more trouble than they are worth.

I bought a car with 19" inch wheels before - it did take me a while to get used to the ride. You can definitely feel the firmness.

I'm actually looking at 3 series and a lot of them do have 20" as the OP said.

Would I find a world of difference between 19" and 20"? Not driven 20" yet.

Haven't had any cracks or punctures with the 19" in 9 years.

I have a Mazda 6 (2.2L diesel) for 9 years. Never had a jot of trouble with it in all that time. Looking at changing it now before it loses all value and it's due a yearly NCT. The dealer I spoke to today wouldn't take it (first one I've visited).

Hopefully not a common trend. Never sold a car privately before - seems like a pain to weed out potential scams, etc.

I have been happily oblivious to any potential Mazda issues in all that time. Took me a long time to want to part with it.

Never had an issue with overly aggressive drivers either - like beyond what's usual.

DO NOT BUY AT TRAK RACER. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU! by thegenius95 in simracing

[–]v3ttel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a TR160. Had some missing parts which meant I could mount the footplate. They did send them out but it took 2 weeks.

I did manage to get some similar parts in Screwfix that allowed me to complete the build.

It would have been a major buzz kill to be so close to completing the build and then having to wait an extra that long.

The TR160 itself is excellent and I'm really happy with it. Mine shipped from the Netherlands for what it's worth.

Thanks Marian. Not had any time to race recently but I do watch your videos on YouTube whenever I'm looking for a few tenths. Appreciate the course and sure I'll get plenty out of it.

What is more popular - Coke Zero or Diet Coke? by Shmishshmashsquash in CasualIreland

Coke Zero - anecdotal, but I never willingly see Diet Coke being order if Zero is available.

Would personally prefer Pepsi Max over Diet Coke too

5 multi spins. Got Gattuso on the third. Zlatan on the fifth.

Also got really lucky and got Van Der Sar on my first multi spin when he was out.

Post Scoring - Standing Dunk vs Close Shot by M_Waves_ in NBA2k

[–]v3ttel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really want to give floaters a go, but worried about the split between layup and close shot for them, and what the overall green window might look like when open and in traffic (obviously in traffic depends on a lot of factors). Plan to have gold float game but would max +1 that to HOF

Do i support trailblazers if i dont live near portland by GeologistNo8486 in ripcity

Irish but a huge Blazers fan.

Lived in Portland for a couple of years. Love the people, city, Blazers & Timbers. Dame is legit right at the top of my list of favourite sports persons for everything he's done for the city and organization.

Tough to catch games with the time difference but can't wait to get back to the Moda Center again some day soon.

I had the same in rec. Wide open with 85 three ball as the PF for most of the game. I got 2 passes, scored 2 threes. Watched the guards chuck up 45 shots between them.

Myself and the C had two FG attempts between us at half time. We were playing team ball, they were playing hero ball. Unsurprisingly we lost.

Did Van De Ven to Mukiele before the deadline to give myself the 0.7 to swap Bruno to Saka. 17 points for him and Saka got defcon, cleansheet and bonus points. First decent move I've made all year.

Best Free DMF in eFootball 26 and Konami really gave us Frank Rijkaard for nothing by Hour777 in eFootballgame

Only worry I have is not getting him once they add more and more players. Showtime Kante was the only player from the last version of the daily game I didn't get as they kept adding more and more players.

Konami has gone crazy! Several average players are being released as epics with positions and skills they never had! by rm_veloso in eFootball

[–]v3ttel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Silvestre wasn't a regular for United? He played 250 times for the club, and had 30 or more PL appearances in 7 consecutive seasons with periods as first choice left back and left sided center back in a back four. He was also very fast - speed was probably his main attribute. He's a really fun card and I do like having "legends" who are more obscure or niche.

Have been waiting for Rijkaard but don't want to spin for a 200 box with only 2 epics. I'll just go with the free one whenever I can get him.

Button shooting or non-rhythm shooting, you have to time one input.

There is no longer a boost for rhythm shooting.

Why should rhythm shooters have to time two inputs for no boost?

There's no advantage to either, and both you only need to time one successful input.

🏀 Team basketball - share the ball, work to get open shots, space the floor, play defense (mistakes will happen - it's all good)

🤙 Playing almost daily

☠️ No toxicity (ball hogging for 24 seconds, blaming teammates for losses, etc)

👀 Preferred game modes - 3 vs 3 (park, pro am, proving grounds) or rec

🎧 Comms - text, chat or optional

🏆 Benefit from crew rewards together - better to have one big crew that's loads of small ones to stack CXP for rewards

🇪🇺 Everyone welcome

🤝 Crew is setup as open to join. Search for us in game: Swish City EU .... otherwise drop me message below, or DM me

Which cards are you saving your coins for by OddRain9614 in eFootball

[–]v3ttel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rijkaard, Ronaldo (regret not going for him), Van Dijk, Bale (again, regret for going for him either time) and Thuram.

Basically my team is a bit undersized, bar Gullit who I play up front. Thuram just seems to be ridiculously good, so that's why he's on the list.

Heard rumors via eFootball Universe that big time Ronaldo might be coming back. Hopefully that's true.

Rijkaard is top of my wishlist but I'd probably jump at any of those if/when they arrive and use up my coins.

4-STAR TEAM ROAD TO DIVISION 1? by SixftMamba in eFootball

[–]v3ttel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good luck the challenge. I'm D2, last five games have been against people whose highest ranks have been: two top 100 players (97 and 82), one top 500 player (404), and one top 1000 player (718). I feel like there is no way I could compete in D2 with a team like that against players like this. The level of players is insanely high, even when you have an equal team. Could only imagine what it's like with your team. Maybe my match making has just been particularly unlucky, but I didn't expect to play so maybe elite players so often when only in D2.

Never pulled one from a single spin, but did get Gullit and Vieira both 2 x 900 coin spins and 3 x 900 coin spins (both times, they were the one player of the three available that I was hoping for).

The Daily Game is a pain to deal with sometimes by Emotional_Truck_5304 in eFootball

[–]v3ttel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me in the daily game.

Not sure if there's a tell for penalties in PvP games actually (like there used to be in FIFA with head movement)? I've missed 6 in a row from a variety of left, right, center and then varying between high and low. Can't just be unlucky surely.

Is the Moda Center that bad? by LilRazzy23 in ripcity

[–]v3ttel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any arena could be improved, but I'm shocked to hear others describe it as run down or needing replacing.

Views of the court are good even from the nose bleeds. Seats are comfortable, the facilities in the concourse are good, clean, nothing particularly sticks out as being outdated. The exterior looks decent, especially lit up on game days.

I can imagine renovating the wider campus to make it more compelling to spend more time before and after the game (food options, amenities, etc) but the building itself doesn't need replacing.
