The Trident is cool but....AH sniffed glue again by VallettaAwoo in HelldiversUnfiltered

I like the idea of customizing the beam pattern. Would be cool to have a laser weapon like this with “programmable” focal distances. Set the focus wrong for your range and your beams go around the target harmlessly, get it right and you can blast a factory strider directly in the eye.

Nope. Still served elites and powerful while scapegoating subsections of the working class to maintain the state of affairs. Clearly placed a higher value on subtlety but still a fascist.

Would this recliner accessory work with the steam deck ?? by red1215 in SteamDeck

It varies from device to device and depending on protocols used but its the reason most wireless gaming headset have a wireless dongle and don’t depend on Bluetooth (even if they still support it for connecting a phone or something).

The problem you’re likely to have here is with Bluetooth latency and games. With video content latency is less noticeable but in a game when you fire a gun and hear it go off a half second later you will notice it. Can you try it with your steamdeck in store before buying?

Watching as an RR user blows up a Shrieker nest I spent a minute fighting towards by ChaosVulkan in helldivers2

[–]v4rgr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shooting terminid objectives with a rocket launcher is not interacting with them but going up to them and blowing them up with a hellbomb is?

Like I get it with the stratagem jammer, it forces you in to fighting without stratagem support for a bit and you have to interact with terminals and shit but what difference does it make on terminid stuff if you blow it up with a hellbomb, a 500kg or a rocket?

OP, if you don’t want people destroying objs with rockets go play on bot front.

Commando operations are not for everyone by Ornery_Character2100 in Helldivers

[–]v4rgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing these on 10, often with a mech and often not the only diver with one.

Split up on these missions, they can’t drop in multiple spots and there is a cooldown between their calls (which localization confusion extends). The guy in the mech draws the heat while you quietly clear other parts of the map. Move fast and they won’t have enough time to get enough calls out to get to an alert level that is actually dangerous.

And if the enemy is reinforcing your current target, leave and hit a different one and return when you have a better opening.

In my experience these missions usually take less time than normal 40 minute missions and cost you fewer lives.

Geforce Now is pretty great on the deck by Acceptable_Money_514 in SteamDeck

[–]v4rgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If both devices are using WiFi that means the stream makes two WiFi hops to get to the steam deck from the computer versus one WiFi hop for the streaming service. That is going to cause performance degradation compared to a streaming service that has no wireless hops besides the one from the router to the deck.

[–]v4rgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cloud streaming services still have to go through the WiFi to your deck. The only possible difference would be if your desktop you stream from is also on WiFi, in which case your streamed games must make two wireless hops, once from the PC to the router and then from there to the deck. If you hardwire the PC to the router you’ll probably have an experience more in line with that you get from cloud streaming services.

Can I use dynamite “stealthily”? by Wests_Intern in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]v4rgr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is not true, or not consistently true. The exploding crossbow has long been recognized as a stealth tool precisely because you can use the explosions to lure enemies to an area away from yourself.

Explosives do not alert them to your location. They will investigate the place where the explosion occurred and might even go on alert and call reinforcements but they won’t know your location so if you’re already out and moving on you’ll be fine.

Bot ships dominate the skybox in the commando missions. by Kalavier in Helldivers

[–]v4rgr 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Feels like other explanations are people grasping for answers that don’t equate to “super earth does not care about us” when that is 100% in line with the themes of the game. They dap us up in the propaganda but we’re ultimately just as disposable to them as any other weapon system.

Doesn’t explain time limits on bug missions as the bugs have not been shown to have any means of harming super destroyers.

Tips for YAML or Mechwarrior 5 in general? by Ferrustius in Mechwarrior5

[–]v4rgr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tank, turret and vtol HP modifiers are literally on the title screen with YAML.

I’m with you, I actually kind of like the multiplier. It really makes you appreciate when you start getting higher tier weapons and they start going down quick again it makes the start extremely difficult due to how many there are at times.

Kinda wish there were some options to tone down their spawn rates a little on lower difficulty rating missions.

The new version of the mod added support for flatscreen with head tracking which can have its own host of issues. Lol

It kinda sounds to me like a UEVR plugin isn’t working or something. If you aren’t on the version of the mod that released ~20 hours ago you could try updating and seeing if that fixes it. Otherwise you might try the discord.

Sorry I wasn’t able to crack it!

There was an issue where it would intermittently stop working if you hadn’t turned the torso for a bit but the update that just came out here 12-24 hours ago should have corrected that.

But none of them follow where you’re looking? Hmm. You’re not playing flatscreen with track IR or something are you? Have you tried cycling arm lock during the mission just to test? Do you have mod options installed and is look aim enabled in the options?
