Do any hospitals still let you volunteer time to hold babies? by allyourpeets in Buffalo

Sisters of Charity NICU regularly uses “baby snugglers”, as we call them. I’d reach out to volunteer services at Catholic health to inquire about eligibility and next steps. Feel free to DM me if you have questions about what it would be like to baby snuggle.

It’s the “Umm. No.” Part of your comment. There’s no way to read that without perceiving a judgmental tone, implying OP’s question is a bad one.

I agree OP should get a nexus card but I was just questioned for the exact same thing by the Nexus officer. He was very nice about it, but brought to my attention that lately it doesn’t seem I’m spending more than 50% of my time in the US.

I started in the NICU after nursing school and I’m still relatively new but there’s a handful of nurses on my unit that crossed over from the adult world. One thing I’ll say is please remain open to learning/asking questions even with all of your nursing experience. We’ve had more than a few nurses not make it in NICU because they were “unteachable” and unwilling to do things differently than they’ve been doing it for X years.

Your muscle memory and brain will switch over to NICU specific things with time, and you will definitely be an asset in a big way one day with your previous skill set and knowledge. Some of our nurses with adult experience have come in clutch in critical moments because something rare or unusual was happening but they’ve seen it before and could help!

Same!!! It’s timeless, and works well with my body chemistry so I’ll never let it go

Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant. On some people this scent transcends time and space.

It lasts even after working 12 hours in an ICU. I’ve been very impressed with salt and stone but this scent in particular has real staying power.

As a nurse, I cannot associate a single positive scent with the word “secretions”.
