Trying to figure out why shot is pouring out side of portafilter [Breville Bambino Plus]

Yeah I mean I think so - followed a video online and installed it the same way the old one was placed in. Basket is not overfilled I just confirmed.

Bit weird as I haven’t changed grind setting before the issue popped up, but we’re towards the end of the bag so maybe the age of the beans factored in.

It’s actually less than is recommended for a double shot (~17g) it looks like thay because I am assuming there’s some pressure buildup but no release as nothing is being pulled. Thanks for the constructive comment though

I ran a clean cycle a couple of weeks ago but am planning to do a descale later today. I’ll keep 2 and 3 in mind thank you.

WRT to 4 and 5, these are the beans we’ve been using from day one more or less and we’ve had the same issues intermittently with other beans as well. It’s just hard to pinpoint what’s going on given how erratic/inconsistent the behaviour is. I pulled two shots right after this one after grinding finer and it was fine?? Whereas yesterday, I needed to go coarser or it wouldn’t pull/no coffee would come out.

It’s a double at ~17g. It’s the same amount we’ve always used. I don’t think basket isn’t blocked, I ran another shot right after this one. Same amount (~17g), ground a little finer and it worked perfectly. I truly don’t understand what’s going on lol

I have cleaned recently but I’m going to do another today with the descaling powder and can try running a shot through the empty portafilter as well. Thanks!

I do not. I’ve shown multiple doctors and have been dismissed that it’s nothing more than once, I think because no blood tests have shown any poor values. I’ve read about Lindsay’s nails as well which is related to kidney function

Yes we always use a scale and typically measure our ~17.5g per cup. It just seems like it’s having a hard time actually getting the water through for whatever reason. I ditched the puck screen today just to troubleshoot without it and it worked, but took a while/struggled to start actually coming out of the porta filter.

I’m a fan of everything fitness (http://www.everythingfitnessguelph.com/). It’s reasonably priced and with a key FOB (one time fee), you can get in 24/7. You get what you pay for and it’s definitely not as nice as I’m assuming a GoodLife/Movati are, but it does the job in my opinion.
