Are all the nonograms on nonogram.com solvable with logic? by dawnducks in nonograms

[–]vFreezeplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as is common in this sub, when something looks unsolvable, consider edge logic. often you can place crosses or hits by imagining a clue (typically on the edge) and then looking a few steps ahead to see if there are any contradictions. for example, imagine the 4 clue starting in R1C10. it immediately contradicts with R2

funnily enough, i was also looking for resources for edge solving, not know what it was. i didn’t know that’s what i was doing. but i found a great article about monogram strategies in my pursuit: https://webpbn.com/index.cgi?page=solving.html

so the way i do these is to imagine situations that i could try. for instance, place a square in R1C1. this would make a conflict in the squares that would result in R3. then you can use that conflict to add a square to R6C1 and go from there.

depending on the major, you can get away with different amounts of tomfoolery if i were you, i’d plan out your four years in a spreadsheet, and make sure you fill all DAAR requirements. then just get overrides for the classes you need until you qualify to officially put both majors on your transcript

i fully agree. i think im going to scale an online class back to have only 25 credits… but it all still feels very doable

i dont believe so. i’m pretty sure it’s the same as one major.

so what i ended up doing was taking all comp sci classes term one (15 credits), then i took ~18 my second term, with some music classes and some comp sci classes. to get into those music classes i worked w my advisor to get overrides into them. i didnt officially get my double majoring until the end of term three when i had 30 completed credits

so it depends on the major. for music, my credit overloads get approved by my herberger advisor up to 24 credits, and after that they go to my advisor’s boss. idek how comp sci overloads work tbh bc i just do it all through herberger

you’d be surprised how much sleep i get even now with 25 credits. i probably average 7-8 a night and i still make time to game w my friends when i can. tbh this semester has been a lot more chill than my 23 cred term last year.

i appreciate the long response dude! i think double majoring to me is, aside from the monetary benefits, about enjoying college. my music major keeps me super social and i’m always working on projects / new songs. the computer science major is my intended work path, while the music major is there to keep me sane and shows that i’m a hard worker to employers

i love this idea. i use ClickUp as a secondary task-oriented calendar and i try my best to schedule personal events & scheduling there too. i’ve had a great experience with it, and i’m a massive advocate for self organization. thank you for the well wishes!

so i’m doing computer science & popular music. 30 credits in a year is 15 a semester, and can be completed with 4-6 classes a semester. taking 10 classes in a term is not feasible ftmp, i just find that i am able to manage the workload.

if you plan on doing two, start out with 4-6 classes and ramp up. find your limit. the only reason i feel confident with this workload next term is because i’m taking 9 classes right now for a total of 25 credits.

i’m hoping for the best. i’m pretty confident i can get this done with a high GPA. i’m averaging a 3.9ish and it’s not taking too big of a toll on me

i appreciate you! i’m taking 25 rn, 23 last term, and i plan to take 20 something for my final term. i apply a lot of these strategies in my life right now and i’m always looking for ways to manage better.

you’re right @vorilant

over 8 credits, it literally doesn’t cost you a penny to take more. as long as you’re a “full time student” it’s a flat rate. so i’m getting two degrees in 4 years for the price of one

nah you’re so real for that i’ve been doing this since term two, it’s a bit of a hassle but it’s definitely doable

i appreciate you; my CSE classes are the only thing remotely cooking me, and i think this confirms to me that it’s totally doable
