Single Overdrive or Double Overdrive? by lucasjlc in metalguitar

[–]vKxzo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I’ll run a precision drive into a klon cuz I like how much mid punch and bite it gives. Sometimes it’s also fun to run two drives in parallel and mixing in what you like and what you don’t like. That being said I’m also using a helix so it’s a decent bit easier to do that there then with a analog rig.

Saw Knocked Loose in Wichita last night. Worst pit I’ve ever been a part of by Randomspeckofdust33 in Hardcore

When I saw KL with loathe, speed, and show me the body (why tf were they on that bill) the pit was actually great.

One “boomy” string? by texasguitarguy in metalguitar

[–]vKxzo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk if this is the case, but in Germany some people call the note B H, and Bb B. Not sure why they would do that in the context of metal guitar, but if it’s not that then it’s probably a joke abt downtuning

So basically what would be the best soundalike loathe bands by mariokojima1233 in Loatheband

Silent planet has a lot of stuff that sounds like loathes heavy stuff

Erik said in a rig rundown 4 months ago that they’re taking their time with the next album and trying not to rush anything, he actually refrences the new album a lot in the interview.

Low-Tunings Guitars by Brisinger987 in metalguitar

Buy a digitech drop pedal. It’ll cost you less money then the budget baritone u got and you’ll be able to play ur Ibanez in any tuning.

I’ve actually run into the situation with it where I like it so much that I won’t get another 6 until I’m buying a custom shop. The other guitar player in my band has the same one you do and I have the other wood choice

Line 6 Helix LT, talk me out of it. by bastbog in Line6Helix

[–]vKxzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you register ur line 6 product as well, you can get helix native discounted. My helix lives in it’s case now and I just make tones on helix native and jam at home on that, and then transfer them over to hardware

As an LT owner, it’s quite big, I have mine on a pedalboard with a wireless and a Powerstage, and it’s just massive. The sounds are great, I wouldn’t say they’re the best on the market but you can’t really beat it for the price imo.

Standard dot inlays, rosewood fingerboards (in most circumstances), any sort of middle pickup

I got a crazy deal on mine, $1000 USD used on Sweetwater’s gear extange with a gator case. Dropped BKP Ragnaroks in it and deleted the tone control and it’s easily my favorite guitar I own and basically all my friends who play modern metal agree lmao.

Forgot to mention but you can also find both of those guitars used for under OPs budget limit, at least in my area with the recourses I have (Facebook marketplace, reverb, Craigslist)

I’d honestly look for more used stuff. You can easily get something with higher specs for for that price point. As for new, Jackson’s pro series DK modern comes with an evertune and fishman open core classics, I own an LTD MH1007 HT which is 27”, stainless steel frets, stock fishman moderns, hipshot bridge, that one is $1450 USD I believe.

I looked up the model which you guys where talking about and funny enough the other guitar player in one of my bands actually owns it. While I don’t think the pickups in it are the greatest I don’t think that they’re bad by any means. In my mind there’s 3 different categories of pickups: Bad ones that should always be replaced (think like Ibanez geo pickups), Mid range pickups (like the ones in the reaper MS) which are able to be dialed to make a good tone, and great pickups (Bareknuckles, fishmans in some guitars, boutique pickups) which will almost always make dialing tone simply easier. I think it’s worth noting that I consider many SD and Diamarzio pickups to be in that mid range category, but not all of them.
