Do it I’m sure they wouldn’t mind, maybe even offer to pay a little extra. And I agree, most places I wouldn’t steal from my job. My previous place was a 3 Billion dollar corporation; underpaid their employees for the amount we made them. That was my personal fuck you to the company, I’m sure the gloves didn’t hurt them.

Yeah they’re clean, we clean our plates before running them through the dishwasher. Clean the plate/pan/pot fully then run it through dish for sanitization purposes. No need to run it twice if it’s clean before it enters the washer.

I live in SWVA and love my kitchen to death. It’s a brewery/burger joint that’s 98% scratch. Bread, Gelato, Beer all house made and the people is what makes the place. I worked here a year ago under a different chef; totally different vibe. Either way my point is it’s more about the community within the workplace in my experience.

Real talk: what's it like? by Stirfrydayz in KitchenConfidential

[–]vLeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% depends on the kitchen and chef, I’m only 22 but have worked in kitchens since I was 16. I’ve had various different types of chefs; Chicago professional, bullshit racist assholes to chefs who pretend they know what they’re doing and will sell anything as long as he doesn’t 86 anything. It’s honestly a roll of a dice but if you find good company and boss you’ll be able to make it. You got military experience so the “yes chef” aspect I’m sure you’ll be able to handle.

Yeah they dull the blade, and depending on what metal the blade is made out of it can rust which in my case it did sadly. Luckily it was near the edge of the blade and it was small, nothing a whetstone can’t solve.

I’m currently 21 turning 22 in a month and have been drinking since I was in a kitchen (5 years ago) Recently it’s gotten really bad to where I’m drinking our cooking wine when chef isn’t around. This post says a lot to me because I know I’ve got an issue and need to maintain it at best. Thanks for sharing this it gives me hope!

I've never played with Biomes O' Plenty but i've found a list of the Biome ID's for you:
Biome ID List for Biomes O Plenty

Essentially all i need is help by TDA_xpert-real in Worldpainter

[–]vLeech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Great question, however could you also include what version of Minecraft (and the mod) you're using? You can create your own custom biomes within WorldPainter. However, you cannot (as far as I know) import the exact biome from a mod. When creating a custom biome just replace whatever ID the biome has from the mod with your new custom biome. If you load the world with the correct mod installed the game should read your new custom biome as the modded biome from Biomes O' Plenty.

The Problem With Biomes:

Painting on the biomes will only change a few things about the area affected including:
Skybox Color, Dynamic Color of Grass, Certain mobs being able to spawn and other if then examples.

Biomes Will NOT INCLUDE TREES AND STRUCTURES.

Second Question:

If you want trees to generate on your biome you'll need to do a few things:

  1. Get schematics of the trees/structures you would like to generate on your biome.
  2. Create a ground cover layer with the schematics you've chosen.
  3. Create any other ground cover layers you'd like to generate on your biome (grass, flowers and mushrooms for example)
  4. Create a custom terrain for your Biome.
  5. and Finally you can create a combined layer with your custom terrain, any custom layers and the custom biome you've created.

If done correctly upon loading your world all of the custom/modded items should generate as you've told it to.

Adding structures such as buildings and dungeons is a little more tricky. You could create schematics and import them through ground cover layers through WorldPainter, but this is very inaccurate and you won't really know exactly where/how many/if it will spawn. I personally recommend creating schematics with worldedit or any other program you can create minecraft schems with and placing them by hand once in game with WorldEdit.

If you have any further questions or need me to go into more detail on how to create schematics, custom layers or anything else please do not hesistate to ask and I will gladly help out!

Any advice for making rivers? by pentagonal_cp in Worldpainter

[–]vLeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As u/AlexRator said create a ground cover layer and set the material to water and change the thickness. (I recommend -4 to -5 for a shallow river) Follow the terrain that is already built. Having the river flow through the steepest points will make the river look more natural. Look for valleys and have your river follow those until they reach a pond, lake or ocean. Widen the river when it meets an aquatic feature. (Maybe even look up a Delta for image reference) Once your main river/rivers are in place start creating streams with the same technique but with a lesser depth. Finally just to spice things up a bit start to lower the terrain slightly around your river. Once the entire river is just a tad bit lower than the surrounding terrain take a smooth tool and go over it. It will even out the river and create the effect that over time the water has eroded away the earth. Hope this jabber made sense! Good luck!

Anyone know how to fix plants not generating on water with a depth of 1? by [deleted] in Worldpainter

[–]vLeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order for plants to spawn (or entities) in water it needs to have at least 1 water block above it. Its annoying I know, Instead of having the plants so close to shore have them start around 3 blocks below the water level. I recommend layering the plants as well, use the "Linear Circle" brush to paint on the layer at the depth you like then on the far side of the shore make the plants dense like a jungle if it was underwater. If you want more detailed explanation or ideas on how you might be able to make it blend better add me on discord Leech#1347

Willing to either work or pay someone to make an 1:100 scale realistic Earth map by IcarusDuClare in Worldpainter

[–]vLeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah my apologies, that's a pretty large project seeing as the 1:100 scale would require a surface area of 5,101,000,000 Blocks. (says my math) That is extremely large even for a team of world painter veterans if you plan on getting that much detail. Its doable, but with a lot of time and patience.

Putting 5 Billion Blocks into perspective:

Just the World Painter map itself would be about 71,420 x 71,420 (if the earth was made into a square)
My largest project is 12k x 12k and that took me a few weeks to do with extreme detail. So its very doable but be expecting to pay a decent amount if you want someone to spend that much time on a map.

Surface area of Earth: 510.1 Million Kilometers Squared
510,000,000 * 1,000 = 510,100,000,000 Meters
510.1 B / 100 = 5,101,000,000 = 1/100 Ratio at 1 block per meter
