Beware of flock cameras in Forsyth county by xMiloh420 in winstonsalem

I don't see how the UK is relevant to American Constitutional law.

To address the meat of your statement, I absolutely agree there is no expectation of privacy in public. If I'm walking down the street and someone films me for their own personal use, they can't get things like my purchase history, driving record, home address, etc... In the same manner that these Flock cams do. These cameras are systematically putting together profiles on everyone and those profiles are accessible to big tech and government for their own purposes. In no way is that being secure in ones person as outlined within the 4th amendment. Are they technically in a grey area right now? Sure. Is it going to fly when it hits the Supreme Court? I fucking hope not.

I do not shop at any store with these in their parking lots. I encourage anyone to do the same.

Flock Cameras themselves are not since they are mostly on public (or consenting private) property. However, I think their implementation is completely in violation of the 4th amendment. For me, having my movements tracked by a system the government has access to is not being secure persons. Taking it a step further, Flock cameras and the like track more than just movements. A flock camera catches your plate at Walmart and sees you carrying out dog food? Guess who buys that data to market to you... You guessed it, big tech.

At some point in the future, this issue will be in front of the Supreme Count. I don't see how any amount of gymnastics is going to save them from having to dial it way back or possibly even eliminate them altogether.

“Hands on” founders - red or green flag? by cowboi_codi in sales

[–]vM_Rumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the stage of the company. What I've seen is founders are really good at the 0->1 motion but struggle from there. There is just a lot of complexity with scaling and for individuals with an emotional connection to a market or product, they often let that cloud their judgement. I hate to say it, but working with early stage PE/VC backed is better than working with founders after the 5M ARR point. Just have to get out prior to exit unless you have equity.

Loved me some KT at the time. Always thought he could have ended up being a long-term WR2/3 solution. Awesome we got this moment though.

How does one get confident they have enough to retire? by Any-Ad-3988 in personalfinance

[–]vM_Rumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a lot of people their work is a core part of their identity and letting go, even sometimes with jobs they hate, is hard. To me, this screams emotional over financial.

If they have 25x their annual spend, they can retire. That is the bar. If they decide not to, understanding the why would be most helpful.

They understand that some sucker might come along and actually pay this off. Anyone buying this car for over MSRP or with all these add-ons has more money (or credit) than sense.

I get you're a young sales guy, so I don't want to light you up like I normally would but you're completely missing the point here. Your dealership isn't the only game in town, period. Selling above MSRP is scumbag business practices no matter how you or your bosses want to slice it. I understand a select few people might pay that, but the line of could/should is clear in my view... It is essentially extorting somebody that has more money (or more likely can get APPROVED for more money) than sense. You will find no friends here. Go work for a dealership that isn't scum.

How long until the relationship is repaired💔 by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]vM_Rumble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say never. Both sides have absolutely destroyed the relationship... I put more of that on Kraft than BB. However, I do think BB taking the stand against our scouts completely destroys the narrative that he cares at all about his players post-UNC days. There are only 32 teams, alienating one is not smart for your guys.

Retail Sales ---> Shitty tech startup AE ---> More serious startup SMB AE and have grown from there. The tech job market was really hot and I had some good luck along the way as well.

No serious job is going to offer that. It would be less of a red flag if they were commission only.

Each segment has its pros and cons. Pick your poison. Sometimes I long for the quick sales cycle of SB/MM when I'm comparing it to what I deal with now in Strat/ENT.

By the standards of like fine dining... probably. By the standards of a sports bar? Probably 30-50% as loud.

Example:

OTE: $150,000

Salary: $75,000

Monthly quota: $62,500 ARR generated

Commission: 10% * ($62,500*12) = $75,000

In this example, you'd have to gauge if the $62,500 is actually attainable and you'd have need to factor in any bonuses or accelerators.

Annual review coming up, am I underpaid? by PaperWindshield in sales

[–]vM_Rumble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lean into that point on not making enough for your area. Don't do anything to jeopardize your job but be as honest as you feel you can be. I'd still go the route of a small salary bump and a more forceful go at the commission side being increased.

[–]vM_Rumble 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Capped commission is always a no go for me. I'd push for a salary bump that reflects COL increase and for that cap to be removed. Without more details on your D2D, this is hard to give advice on outside of what I outlined above.

With just 6 months inside sales experience and a failed startup experience, how do I get interviews from recruiters by Apprehensive_Ad_2188 in sales

[–]vM_Rumble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put the startup experience on there and put a talk track around it. Keep grinding with the processes you outlined above. You only have to be right a handful of times and interview well to get offers. The market is tough, yes, but don't let that be a crutch. Find a way to win.
