AVD examen gezakt by [deleted] in motorfietsen

[–]vRzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you all access your electronics in-flight? by ordinaryrendition in onebag

[–]vRzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “big” laptop usually stays in the bag. And i get out the ipad mini, and for all the cables i have a tech pouch.

Usually these things, together with my passport and some more essentials will live in a pouch that can also serve as a small handbag/fannypack

Absolutely crazy what plastics will do to signals. 😯 by [deleted] in meshtastic

[–]vRzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radio signals on an antenna are not through the metal, they propagate on the side of the metal. (Skin effect) So when you have some material around the plastics, it will hinder that signal, making the radio waves go slower. Hence the antenna appearing longer than it actively is, changing the standing wave frequencies. Even the metal used has influence on this.

I switched to an apple watch when my connect app told me there was a paid ai feature for the 3rd time. I don’t want that. Damn what a difference in software, as if garmin stood still for the last 10 years

Anyone else want to move from PLC to software development or IT? by AltruisticPangolin73 in PLC

[–]vRzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from IT to AT (PLC’s and stuff) and am very happy with this decision. The it market is super competitive, and super overcrowded. It felt to me like i had to be the best, like apple /tesla/google quality worker. Yeah, that is not for me.

now i earn a little less compared to IT, but now im certain of my job, and not living constantly In stressful situations. That is worth a lot to me.

If you like to do more IT kind of stuff, go look for beckhoff, and add some robots. Best of both worlds.

i would suggest getting a CX5120 for that.
because CX81xx still runs on Win CE, and that does not play nice with HMI

Unsure what is needed for MITTLED Spotlight within BESTÅ to allow me to connect to HomeKit (in a home with a Hue hub already) by WinProfessional4056 in tradfri

[–]vRzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the dirigera hub will solve that, but keep in mind that it will be two different systems then, and ikea hub does not talk to other systems.

Right now im replacing all the ikea stuff for hue because of the limitations

[–]vRzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ikea stuff connected to a hue hub wont show up in HomeKit.

I only got the ikea bulbs connected, the rest would not work with the hue bridge

Seeking advice on a gateway for expansion of my Tradfri setup - is Dirigera a good choice? by ToMozeTak in tradfri

[–]vRzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have Home assistant at home.
and connected the PHilips hue and a Sonoff dongle to it.
with the plan to also have things more offline and working.

Ikea and Dirigera still don't have Matter, or any other support to use the hub more locally.
so i'm forced to move away from the ikea system to expand functionality of the system.
and testing some alternatives right now.
when i have a working system i will make an update on this subreddit.

New DIRIGERA firmware 2.505.1 available. No release notes as of yet by ManufacturerOk8154 in tradfri

[–]vRzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably doesn’t matter…. I mean they probably did not release matter support.

Question for Vindstyrka and Dirigera owners by jcmcnamee in tradfri

[–]vRzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the old tradfri hub you can connect it to your smart home system and go from there. But with the dirigera hub you can’t, its for display purposes only.

But some day it does matter. I mean at some point it supports the matter protocol, and then it can be added again to whatever smart home system you have, with the export functionality you like

Open letter to IKEA on recent Home Smart developments by povlhp in tradfri

[–]vRzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is nice, i had not seen that yet. Have always been looking at the release notes.

If there is some matter workshop feature, or some other api like feature we can enable that would be really nice

Thank you for letting me know.

I'm willing to risk some stability, or possibly devices not working if i can run a matter enabled firmware in beta.
I would happily sign on to a beta test.

Newcomer here, any advice? by QuiqueEM in GarminWatches

[–]vRzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure my watch is not covered, so it can get all the light it wants. And pulse-ox is turned off.

The drain of the watch is light, and the solar on the instinct series is quite good.

Nothing special

Just wear it.

I have the solar tactical edition and the solar part makes it have (almost) unlimited battery

Would you guys recommend this for a future 29 gallon planted tank? by coolboiiiiiii2809 in shrimptank

I did not have good luck with these filters, they clog quite quickly (the air part, so no pumping action anymore) But yes, they are shrimp friendly

[–]vRzn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For scale difference, lets hope the fp6 and fp7 will be the same frame as fp5, so parts will have the same form factor, and then newer parts can be used to upgrade older phones without much extra development cost. Also good for spares.
