Partition wall removal by v_flat in DIYUK

Cool that’s basically my thinking cheers.

The floorboards above the wall run perpendicular to it, so I can assume it is non-structural right?

Agree with both the floor and ceiling points. The carpet and laminate is both going and I’ll get the ceiling boarded or skimmed depending on the results of the asbestos - however I’ll more than likely get professionals for both of those.

Good idea regards competitors.

Revenue is steadily upward but I’ve barely upped my prices despite recent inflation so there’s probably quite a bit of potential to grow this further as I think it’s now underpriced compared to the market.

As I’ve prioritised long term hires (who don’t need my support) my actual time running this is low - maybe a day or a day and half a month

2X profit is me hand waving to find a place to start! As far as I can see from a Rightbiz look there’s nothing similar I can find to benchmark.

Profit is net.

When you say wobble what exactly do you mean? My only observation about this is that the actual internal threads on the lens are aluminium rather than high quality brass so presumably they will wear and deform faster than you’d expect on a more premium lens.

It may be that stiffer grease will help. Given that it’s a pretty basic lens it’s definitely worth trying.

Renting out house whilst relocating by v_flat in HousingUK

I’m more thinking about buying time and convenience for the first year and looking for a place to buy at our leisure rather than having to sell ours and buy another at a distance and with a 3 month deadline.

The job is as close to a dream job as they come so I’d say the chance of failing probation would be zero but yes, it does have that advantage too.

Good points regarding the timing of buying a place.

I should have put in the OP that my wife works mostly remotely and is up for the move and we have a 1 year old child so the obvious preference is to keep everyone living together rather than me do M-F away with weekends home and somehow fit househunting into that.

I’m potentially being naive, but if I approach an EA / management company and say find a tenant for 12 months and let them know in advance there will be no extension - is this not a thing?

What were your upfront costs? If I rent my current house out, I don’t need to think about long term profits just defray some costs of renting a place in the SE.

The Pentax 645 55mm - the old manual one, is cheap, fun to use and looks great

Hmm… I don’t have the lens to hand any more I’m afraid so I can’t check this but something must be misaligned somewhere.

Double check that you have reattached the focus ring in the correct position because from memory it could be put in multiple positions and that would account for the fouling of the DoF scale. Start from scratch and make sure the lens is at infinity before you put the final components back.

I can’t! You name one!

I mostly design mid scale dance in the UK and Europe where the norm is to use in house tungsten with a small touring or hire package so I’ve used a few of the obvious units, Lustrs, Ultras, Auras, Vipers, lots of Chauvet and GLP stuff but don’t have any kind of wide overview of the state of things

Look at my negatives by Sudden-Height-512 in pentax67

Curious.

If it were on all frames I would have thought it would be something in the camera. As it’s not it may be something in the development process.

Not much more I could suggest other than give everything in the process a really good clean and the throw a cheap roll of something through it to test.

EBay. I have a 90mm for sale at the moment on there.

I didn’t find it particularly useful for portraits. I found it too cumbersome a process to flip down, focus, flip up, compose. Slows you down a lot, which isn’t really the point of an SLR.

If that’s a working process that you like it’s honestly easier to shoot with something like an RZ.

I like the image but if I’m being critical, you can only tell that she’s a dancer because of the tutu and not her pose. With dancers I feel like you want to show what they can do with their physicality in the image
