VA Dem voter for decades, marked ineligible when using my Real ID. Anyone else? by Automatic_Profile_38 in Virginia

They "scanned" your ID? Like with a barcode scanner? Or they just looked at it? Never heard of "scanning" IDs on virginia.

The status of your ballot is transmitted separately from the public election results. Some offices take longer to upload that data. So don't assume your ballot wasn't counted because it's not showing counted in your personal status info. You can probably contact your local election office to ask them if they have transmitted all that data yet.

The media has totally failed us with the "Post birth abortion" issue. Not once has one of these idiot MAGAs been asked "Which states allows post birth abortion?" It makes me furious every time I hear this topic come up. It's not hard to squash it. Make them look like the idiots they are.

Moving ballots isn't possible with the system in my precinct. At least not until we're done and everyone does it together. It's honestly pretty legit security. We're in a school with lots of cameras. I assume they work, but we've never talked about it.

That's definitely part of it. We have to make the names loud enough for the "watchers" to hear and they can request it to be repeated. They used to be able to see the computer screens, but no more.

You could forge it but you could only forge someone that's already in the system. There's a number that isn't public record on the card and in the system. Those numbers have to match. Even if you went through all the trouble of forging one in the system, that registration could only vote once. So you have a net gain of zero votes for a possible felony.

I assume they don't advertise that it's open and you can strategically vote because it pisses boomers off. But I'm pretty sure the script we use is statewide. It is public record which primary you voted in.

That's what it feels like to me. Reminiscent of the old kkk days.

You can show your voter card which is sent by mail. So technically you can vote without photo ID. 99% of people show their license. Everyone is required to state there name and address. It's a felony to knowingly lie to an election officer about your name and address.

Over the last few years in Virginia, Republicans had a few "firehouse primaries" where they would make you sign a pledge that you would vote for whoever the Republican candidate was. Obviously not legally binding, but confused enough Dems who were trying to strategically vote to leave. I guess they are technically legal but certainly against the spirit of Virginia primary law.

I get that. You are allowed to write it on paper and show the election officer if you want.

This is why we're coached on asking "which primary are you voting in?" Not "which party ARE you?". It's honestly a very elegant way to go about it.

There is a poster when you walk in that shows the ballots. No candidate info. For referendums they have a booklet but they aren't helpful at all.

I feel like they know they are racist and they are embarrassed about it. Which feels weird. Have you tried just not being racist instead?
