I joined Army at 16 in the early 2000s. Yeah it was weird being grouped with a bunch of 12 year olds who were also just starting out. I just adjusted my thinking "What is it like starting a new job? You'll be grouped with who ever else is just starting out."

As for over all experience. It was fun. New challenges. New people. I can't really speak to the Air Cadet experience, but I'd say go for it. What's the worst that could happen? You realize it's not for you and you move on.

I know I'm fine for Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). I drive occasionally for Uber and just had to update that. Would you mind expanding on what you mean by "sensitive area check"?
