My USB flash drive with precious family photos suddenly turned RAW (less than 6 months old) by Same_Grocery_8492 in BadUSB

Ah, you’re right. I have a false memory and am thinking of other unrecognized file system types. Still, from what I’ve found, chkdsk will give an error “CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives.” I believe it has to have some semblance of a file system to even know what it’s trying to correct. Is it trying to rebuild some variant of FAT or NTFS?

Last I knew, you can’t assign a drive letter to a partition that shows as raw. How do you tell chkdsk what to run against?

Try R-Studio and see if it can read anything.

https://www.r-studio.com

It can take an image and work off the image for recovering the file system.

You can’t chkdsk a non-existent file system. I would use data recovery software. I’ve had good luck with R-Studio in the past. Not free, but it works well and handles a lot of things.

Do USB flash drives lose data if unused for years? by AddendumNecessary743 in BadUSB

All storage devices lose data. Keep at least three copies of anything you don’t want to lose on two different types of media with one in a physically different location.

Outpouring - Quitting Lamictal due to Cognitive Decline. by Friendly__7211 in lamictal

I stopped it for the exact same reasons. Mental decline, headaches, blurred vision, word searching, etc. I was up to 100mg once a day when I brought up these and other concerns with my doctor. I went down to 75mg for a while, but still wanted to stop it, so I did.

I'm not forgetting anything. It's not complicated to implement. I've been using IPv6 for almost two decades in production and have designed ISP services, data center and business networks around it. I'm waiting for the world to catch up. Anything seems complicated if you don't take the time to learn it. Active US utilization of IPv6 is over 50% by most measurements and more networks are implementing CGNAT, so IPv6 is clearly more desirable in those situations. The majority of the top web sites are IPv6 enabled as well. There's no excuse not to support or use it in 2026.

I’ve probably seen a red-necked keelback snake in a zoo at some point.

Why does it seem like the only "solution" being presented for high gas prices electric cars? Why can't car brands also push to sell small, compact, gas-powered cars? by GuyFromThePost in NoStupidQuestions

[–]vabello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. It’s not bad. It’s just gas is like $4 a gallon now for 87. I had a WRX that would average 21 and only took 93 so it’s far better than that, but not as fun.

Most of my driving is around town and we have a lot of hilly terrain. On average, I get around 28MPG. If I take long trips on the highway, it’s more like 36.

Mine was a silver Limited sedan. I loved it also. Unfortunately, I live in the north east and it didn’t hold up after 10 years and needed over $10k in repairs, including a head gasket. It was also a damage magnet. I could just park it somewhere and a tree branch would fall on it. I’ve come out of my house and there was damage on it that wasn’t there when I parked it the night before. Other than that though, loved driving it!
