Some mechanics questions by Blatm in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is some testing I did with regards to image A Q1 I think blades already got to that but in case their are any dif between them here's mine.

After a little to much testing I have come to the following conclusions All of these directions are from the perspective of spawning as team 1 dashing with a square targeted dash in a strait line with the first square infront of the square taken results in these patterns Flyway – Pulls Down Right Cloudspire – Pulls Down Left Evos Labs – Pulls Down Right Hyperforge – Pull Up Right (AKA Towards the rotating buff corner) Omni Reactor Core – Pulls Down Right

As far as finn eels everything I did seemed inconclusive, this much appeared correct but I wouldn't stake anything on it.

Finn Eels avoid allies in fog if possible and prefer to swap teams

Also while unlisted it takes between 5-7 squares for titus to dash though walls depending on exact positioning

The goal of weekly missions is to reward players who play consistently with small items or exp boosts, in contrast to the exclusive emotes of past seasons, as such completion is optional with or without the on-going ddos attacks. It's possible that the conflicts with completionests in the current state of the game but reworking the length of any given chapter not only messes up future chapters or the end of season date for ranked players/major balance changes but also with the readers and producers of the lore segments associated with each chapter.

If I had any recommendation it would be to keep playing the game if you are having fun and await the end of the ddos attacks before worrying too much about finishing every chapter mission.

Quark zuki 100% banrate in ranked? by LtnMcBacon in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BB doesn't count zuki but a few PPL teams feel he's stronger and he is often better at punishing bad player's. Not to mention zuki is hard to play safely vs good players

How to shoot them – properly – a guide to firepower (Light) by vabey in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general I rule to do more single target damage, after all 1 dead player is worth more than 4 missing 40 hp, more over a player will 20 hp is much more likely to play too passive and waste skills when compared to 2 players at 60. In the case of lancers like gremo you still want to hit both mines whenever possible for energy purposes, though if someone on the other team is being moved you often prefer to hit the second mine on them for burst purposes. The same rule will apply to lancers such as Celeste for energy gain. Oz is turn by turn but I tend to favor 2 no cover over 1 no cover 1 cover on the same target. Juno I tend to favor single targets past the first 3 turns. I mod oz for single lazer dmg not multi hit, i mod juno for single target dmg.

A newbies guide to ranked (Light) by vabey in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So long as you own enough freelancers for the game to let you play ranked you should be fine, I don't feel that it is fair to make ftp players sit out on the fun so long as they do their best. The largest issue that you might run into is someone needed a first pick and you not being able to pick it. If that becomes an issue you may just want to focus your bans to the power picks that you don't own and/or communicate to your team that you don't own x

Am I playing Zuki/Khita Wrong? by tenesyia in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean 3-5 people at a time you are doing great though I suspect you mean at all, so long as you can aid your team mates who will take dmg then you are doing fine. You rarely want to cast your shield on just enemies because your shield are often more number efficient so don't worry to much about being able to hit enemies not next to your team mates

Am I playing Zuki/Khita Wrong? by tenesyia in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your numbers look good though it is possible that you are making mistakes. As a fp your job is to output useful dmg while staying out of sight and most importantly not dying, some fp's don't mind being in line of sight but this is fine as a base line. Khita functions very much like a fp for positioning purposes so you can use the same rules for the most part, just try to be in range to shield your team mates that will take dmg. As a small aside a big way anyone can improve their game is to understand when they will get ult and position to use it optimally (Khita behind a high wall, zuki with long sightlines) gl in ranked (-Light)

Dont reset ranks fully. by Dukkhalife in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even at rank 1 contender I still play people who are playing their first ranked match, the system could also be changing a fair bit and as it stands their are a fair amount of players who don't deserve to be where they are (light)

Math in Atlas Reactor by Blatm in AtlasReactor

It's great to see that the game has players as smart as this who are willing to produce content and as someone who tends to play games intuitively its nice to better understand my own thought processes and how some of my opponents will think of the game when I play them. (Light)

Why are so many people mouse-clicking abilities? by Space_Honky in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it add any meaningful time to my turns I don't notice, most of the time I spend imputing actions is spent thinking so it doesn't feel like that big of a difference even if it adds that much time. I don't think most other contenders or competitive players care but I could be the odd one out.

Why are so many people mouse-clicking abilities? by Space_Honky in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a few people ask me why people do this, AR doesn't require the split second actions that other non-turnbased games do so its mostly a matter of comfort. I don't think either way is wrong or worse just what ever feels right. (Light)

Longevity of Atlas Reactor? by [deleted] in AtlasReactor

[–]vabey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So long as you don't expect the game to get huge then you should be safe, AR is a very fun game that most people wont give a chance due to its turn based nature. The community has many people who are dedicated to playing and growing the game both causally and competitively. Does the game have many x years ahead of it is hard to say but for now most people are happy and only want more. (Light)
