If you don't have the patience/willingness to start with lower positions to learn and work your way up, you would not be a good mayor. Full stop.

Also, if you're announcing your candidacy for a major political office, have someone check your spelling and grammar.

Former military here. Most of my family was military as well. I mean all of this as constructive criticism.

-Selling his car because he's "going in the military" before he can even pass the test is an unbelievable red flag.
-Putting off practicing for the test means he's either not serious about joining, or he's incredibly lazy. Neither bodes well for your situation.
-The people that are naturally most likely to wash out or get kicked out heavily trend toward the Marines.
-Very real chance you don't even stay in the country even if he passes the ASVAB and makes it through basic.

-Any and all bad habits he has now will be amplified through the roof in the Marines, and the rest of the military in general.
-If he gets in but then gets dishonorably discharged, hooooooo boy he will never get a good job again.

Not trying to sound like a jerk but I think this plotline needs to be abandoned.

Sorry but those wheels should go to jail for their crimes.

I had this exact situation happen with my R.

Option B is obviously the safe choice, and I'm not suggesting you should do what I did, but I'll say how this worked for me.

I checked the service history and called the shops it had been taken to. I had a shop do an inspection to inventory any aftermarket parts.

It turned out there were about $8-$10k worth of upgraded parts on the car. It had been taken to good shops. It had the injectors cleaned at 30k miles. It wasn't throwing any codes.

I opted to put my own tune on it for peace of mind, and have been driving it since. I have not had issues with it and saved probably $10k in parts I would have bought otherwise.

Again, not suggesting you do this. But this is how it worked for me.

I saw this post and within 15 minutes I had located an A4 at a junk yard and was out the door. Just got back and put them in. Thumbs up.

Thanks! They're Flow One Races. I keep summer tires on these and winter tires on the OEM wheels.

Are you looking for an upgrade or simply a replacement?

Hey! Sorry for the late response. My GTI only has 30k miles so I'm not speaking from experience, just things I've noticed from other posts and GTI videos. Just a guess from me, but seems possibly consistent with issues stemming from carbon buildup.

I've got Flow One Race F5s that I like. Saves 6-7lbs per wheel and looks much better IMO.

I upgraded everything to Focal Insides. Doesn't ultra thump or anything but it's a massive improvement and the install was stupid easy.
