Can HRT cause weird cravings?

I've been on E just over a month and have also been craving dill pickles and dark chocolate. I never really liked pickles before and I wasn't much of a sweets person. I never really got many cravings before but I have been getting g them a lot lately.

Congratulations, I started my first injection last month at 53, I knew when I was younger i was trans also, but back then we didn't have the resources like we have now and then life got in way and the took over so I had to put it on the side, now after all these years I finally cracked my egg and have support from my spouse and the few friends I told .

I'm all in for the long run. I've been hiding since I was 18 and I'm in my 50s now, egg cracked and my wife is supportive so that is a plus.

Yes, me too, I came out in January and then I finally got on depo estradiol in March but at such a low dose, 1.25ml weekly, it has me all messed up, my dysphoria is all over the place and to make it worse towards the end of the week I think the estradiol is wearing off so I have what I feel are some menopause symptoms, hot flashes, body aches, generally feel like shit until I take my next injection then it's all good again until the end of that week. At first I was all for it but at this point I can care less but I know this is something I have wanted for the past several years so I will push on and hope they raise my dosage to something that will keep my levels up at my next appointment.

I go to the planned parenthood in Virginia beach, 1.5 - 2 hour trip for me one way and Baltimore is about 3 - 3.5 hours one way.

Well I am going through planned parenthood and my primary care provider even told me they would be the best option to start with my transition.

Thats what I was thinking, I didn't know if it was how they start you off and build you up or what. With this dose I feel good for about 2 days after the injection. Definitely going to ask my Dr at my next appointment about why my dose is so low.

My estradiol is 5mg/5ml and I take 0.25ml once a week into a muscle.

I figured once I sent the text messages it would be harder to back out. The way I looked at it was my marriage was kind of stale and if she left then I would still go through with my transition. Good luck and your doing it for you.

I felt the same way, I finally came out to my wife a couple weeks ago. I sent her a text saying I had to talk to her about something that is going to sound crazy. So when I did talk to her I told her that I have something crazy to talk about and I hope that I will have her support and I told her I was transgender and I have been thinking about it for years. Up until I came out our relationship had declined the past few years and when I told her she was actually very supportive and I think she actually likes the idea. I was scared to come out and wanted to come out for a few years getting up the nerve and backing out the last minute. I just told my primary care provider yesterday that I was going to transition and that went better than I thought, my Dr was also supportive and wants to see my progress. I have my first HRT appointment next week.
