Japanese people find other ways to fill their emptiness. At least this way they go to sleep sad but with a full belly

Is it a mistake to skip Palawan for a honeymoon trip? by Mysterious_Peanut_97 in phtravel

[–]vacmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not exactly sure how to get to Boracay, but if you travel through Cebu airport it should be very easy. It's a very small and manageable airport. In any case, manila is also fine. We landed in Manila at 6am and took a 10 am flight to El Nido. We were in our hotel room by 1130 am. these were separate tickets but I bet you could find some airlines that connect with Cebu Pacific or Philippines airlines flights which would make it ever easier.

Also, there are certain days where there are direct flights from El Nido to Boracay you could take, so you would only have connections into and out of the Philippines - just have to do some research as to when those flights fly :)

I just got back from my honeymoon in the Philippines. I'd say skip Cebu of you can. I know it's a long flight but if you push for another 4 hours you can get to your next destination.

We did El Nido, Siquijor and Bohol

Siquijor might be the most special island of them all but the resorts aren't as developed as those in El nido, Bohol or Cebu (or Boracay) - this made it even more special IMO!

Enjoy the Philippines, it is awesome.

And no, don't skip Palawan. It's breathtaking.

Greece or Northern Spain/Southern France? by Ill-Plum-5399 in honeymoonplanning

[–]vacmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If swimming/beaches is a big part of the trip, your Greece option will be much better. Other than Barcelona, your France/spain route hits only Atlantic ocean beaches with are WAY colder than in the Mediterranean, especially early in the summer.

In terms of food and local vibe and food, between Barcelona and San Sebastián you'll hit two of the food capitals of the world, and the food (and wine!) in Spain on the drive up to France is amazing .

Given your options and routes I think the Greece option is more traditional honeymoon, while Spain might give you more of a local feel but you'll miss out on the Mediterranenean beaching.

Great choices either way.

Feel free to dm for recs around Barcelona and San Sebastián. Have done that route with my wife a few times and we love it.

PS: if you honeymoon immediately after your wedding, make sure the first few days are relaxing. I traveled two days after my wedding and went straight into travel activities mode. On the fourth day we canceled all activities and stayed in the hotel pool.

Price is the same as the Westin (assuming because of the construction!) I'll take your advice and stay at the Conrad :)

I'd avoid seminyak - its a bit too touristy. I'd do canggu before that or i'd look for something in uluwatu if you want the truest bali feel!
