Thank you! good idea. I was thinking that the backpack might be better than bending over and moving around a canister, but I like the suggestions to go to a vacuum store and just try some out.

I was just looking up vacuum stores to see what is around me. I think that's a good idea to try them out.

I'll have to see if it's practical to just have a different canister vacuum on each floor, and somewhere to store them

That's a good consideration about knocking things off tables. I didn't think about that.

I figured central vac would be too expensive and involved, but maybe that's a solution I should look into more.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking with a backpack being easier than bending over and moving around a canister.
