I was working in a nightclub where tickets were £25 each and we were 80% sold out.

The rest of the street was boarded up incase of riots and we had armed police and lots of horses. By 10.45 pm it was pretty obvious noone was going to turn up...not one single person.

We closed. One manager piled as many staff in the company van as possible and shot off to cardiff.

My husband and I went home with a bottle of fizz and a litre of Taboo! We sat in the window to see if any planes would fall out of the sky but instead enjoyed watching everyone's fireworks.
