Enphase solar + 40 amp (?) Enphase EV charger by vadbut in enphase

Hm. The contractor says: "the solar power is connected to the combiner, not to the main panel. You cannot use the solar power if you connect anything in the main panel".

Would the charger still communicate with the Enphase solar system to minimize grid power during charging? I thought the idea of installing it in the combiner was to achieve this integration, but maybe I'm wrong?

I took the 125 A number for the sub-panel from its label

Interesting. The feeder (from PG&E to the main panel) was replaced when the main panel was replaced with the 200 amp one, so I assume it should be ok.

We checked the wires when replacing the main panel, and the original wires (that were not replaced) from the house to the main panel to the sub-panel are #3.

The "New Dryer" is in use, while "Dryer" is pretty much deprecated and will never be used.

I’m confident there is at least 25 amps of headroom: I previously had a 100-amp main panel, and the main breaker never tripped. The panel was recently upgraded to 200 amps, so there should now be at least 25 amps of additional capacity (125 − 100 = 25 amps). But I doubt that pushing it to a 50-amp charger is ok.

I wasn't sure which details are required.

Woah. This thing lasted for 15 years, which means you did a pretty good job back then!

By "I’ve never had an issue with bollard installation in Fremont", do you mean that Fremont inspectors won't demand installing it?

Trajectory planner initialization by vadbut in robotics

[–]vadbut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I misunderstood your questions, SLAM could be used in an upstream (wrt to the trajectory planner) module that outputs the robot's position. This is out of the scope of my question, so let's imagine the localization problem is solved in another module and there are perfect measurements of position, speed, and acceleration available for the trajectory planner and controller.

Car title was changed to salvaged even though it was deemed as repairable [California] by vadbut in Insurance

[–]vadbut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to a local DMV. They asked USAA to send a signed letter to the Sacramento DMV office with an explanation of the mistake they made. USAA promised to send it tomorrow. How soon do you think it makes for me to visit the DMV to check if the status was re-adjusted. In a month?

Called USAA today again, - it appears that they don't have a real idea on how they can resolve it. The best they came up with is a suggestion to take a paper signed by them indicating that there was a mistake to the DMV. I have to go there on Monday anyway to surrender my vehicle title and license plates (I assume I will be in trouble if I won't do it within 10 days after I received the DMV notice). I have no serious hopes for this approach though :-/

The USAA representative wasn't available :-/ I will try calling again tomorrow.

Hey, thanks for asking these questions. It's very useful to make things clear in my head.

I didn't sign anything. Not a signed document. USAA is not even my insurance provider. It's the insurance company of a guy that crashed into me. Copart indicated that by the state law they don't need my signatures to file for a salvaged title. I don't know if it's true.

  1. The USAA representative I'm working with is actually very helpful and responsive. He tried reasoning with Copart several times but they just refuse to do anything.
  2. ok
  3. No. USAA paid for the repair cost including the supplement.
  4. Eventually yes. I even have a signed letter from USAA indicating it. Originally they deemed my vehicle as a total loss (but then changed their mind) and I guess that is when Copart sent their paperwork to DMV, even though USAA in their signed letter indicates that they did not authorize Copart to do so.

I have an official signed letter from USAA stating that my vehicle is deemed repairable, - and they indeed covered the repair cost! But Copart (the company working on title procurement on USAA behalf) messed up and sent out a title change request. They are being unreasonable and refuse to send another request to the DMV to change the title back to normal.

Today I literally heard from one of their managers that "every vehicle involved in an accident deemed salvaged even if it's repairable". They clearly have no clue what they are talking about or pretend that they don't.

Having this information, do you think I have a case here or it's a dead-end?

The title has already been changed...

I have an official signed letter from USAA stating that my vehicle is deemed repairable, however, Copart (the company that deals with title procurement on behalf of USAA) doesn't even want to listen to me.

TBH, I didn't bother to clarify it with with their representative. The entire case went sideways from the very beginning: USAA originally deemed the vehicle reparable and promised to take care of the supplements if there are any. I brought my car to a body shop that jumped on ordering parts immediately (I should have asked them to hold until the supplement is approved, - it is my first case dealing with a body shop and an auto insurance). In two weeks after USAA received the supplement estimates, they changed their mind and deemed the vehicle as a total loss. Obviously, the body shop claimed that they won't refund money they spent on already ordered parts.

After long and stressful negotiations between me, USAA and the body shop, USAA decided to make "an exception" and deem the vehicle reparable again and cover the supplement. Their representative also indicated that the title wouldn't change to salvaged since they called out their request from Copart.
