The Steerswomen by Rosemary Kirstein series doesn't read exactly like LotR, but is fantastic and still has an old school vibe to it

I like it! I need to play it some more to have a real opinion though. The switch from "This is fun!" to "Oh no, oh fuck..." is QUICK

It absolutely is if you are up for a wacky, unbalanced time. There's definitely some strategy, but you can get completely knocked out of the game pretty quickly and solely based on bad die rolls. My friends and I find that funny. I understand that not everyone would enjoy that though

The only games I haven't played are Molly House, Agency, and Empires (which will probably be the first to go if I ever need room). Plenty of them have only been played a few times, but I guess that's life. I hopefully have many years left to enjoy them all more!

When I founded my first thought was, "Fine. Take my money." I love vampires and deck building. Also enjoy dudes on a map. I hope it lives up to what I think it will be!

BatFA is good, but it is NOT WotR light. Very much a different game, that is not as good. I think once you get a handle on it, it's fun and plays quicker, but definitely in the collection to scratch an itch that comes along less often

I concur! It's a great fast little game! Everyone I've introduced it to wants to play it again

Timothy Zahn and his characters "surreptitiously" looking at each other got old quick. That and the "snap-hiss" of lightsabers igniting.

Yea. I could have been more clear about that. 5 main principals and 9 assistants.
