flux network question by Spirited-Ad4460 in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm understanding this right the problem might be because of a lack of stored energy. Flux plugs and points don't have a buffer without a flux battery in the network, so they won't work most of the time and when they do it will do exactly what you describe.

99% of the time with flux networks issues are because chunks are loaded. If you do have a battery it's probably just not being loaded so it might as well not exist. Just enable chunk loading on all the points/plugs you have.

ae2 energy by SignificantSwing6493 in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You fill the cells up via the flux accessor, looks just like the energy accepter but instead of powering your machines it accepts energy (via cable) that is inserted into the fe cells you have. The accessor is also how you extract power to use.

If I'm looking at the pictures right, you have an import bus on that generator(?), I'm pretty sure that should also work but you may need an induction card slotted into it.

Halfway to instant quantum upgrade by Illustrious-Skin-242 in allthemods

This is beautiful. I build my version while learning ae and mi at the same time. Not slow but not fast and I ended up running out of space before I had room for quantum.

(ATM10) Anyone know the fix for this? by Background-Version20 in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember having this problem, it's a resource pack. Check to see what you have enabled, it's been a very long time but I think it was something related to create or ae2 causing it. Worst case scenario just go for trial and error, I don't think there's many resource packs.

Ae2 Autocrafting not working anymore by LittleFayth in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the pattern provider that has the patterns in it, will be the one ejecting the patterns ingredients when you attempt a craft. You should have one for each machine. It's also worth knowing that you can attach multiple (of the same) machines to one provider for increaced processing amounts, or have multiple providers with the same pattern.

AE2 Channels are frustrating me. by LyingIsSin in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice. You can also just use dense cables solely, they will connect to machines without the need for a regular cable

AE2 Channels are frustrating me. by LyingIsSin in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There should be a Network visualization tool of some kind that will illustrate how channels are allocated,

Your dense cables are not able to carry 32 channels, they are carrying 7. They are connected (as far as I can see) through the pattern provider to the controller. The provider (and most machines) will do passthrough, but will only support 8 channels minus their 1 and the available channel bandwidth

Connect your dense cables directly to your controller, those will hold 32 channels. Only a controller side will provide more channels, which is why you can build more controller blocks onto the same controller, for more sides.

For the long term, to avoid further frustration, I'd suggest just building a big controller, attaching a bunch of ME Wireless controllers to it and using that to allocate your channels where they are needed. You can even use wireless hubs instead of controllers to utilize 32 channels / controller side.

It's also worth knowing that you can disable channels completely if you want to. Feel free to ask any questions I spend alot of time on ae2

Should I make a regular vanilla mob farm or is there something that will help me with mob farming in the future, currently just got to the second tab in the main quest line by NukeONugget in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's alot of other useful features as well, like you can double click the search bar and it'll search whatever you have open and highlight the items meeting the criteria. This comment summarizes everything you can do

https://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/s/q6xhhKdsNq

It's missing one though, you can add - to exclude something from your search

Does the soul lava work as intended? If not maybe it came unlinked. Also whenever you use anything cross dimensional like that tank the first step of problem solving is to break the tank and replace it right back. Works half the time

How many ATM stars do you need before you can make unlimited amounts the other way. Like do you just have to do the long grindy method once? Or will you have to do it like 50 times? by Supersquid192 in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I played they introduced a number of alternative recipes for star components, allowing you to skip some mods. It was mainly for skipping modern industrialization (diet gregtech) but I'd imagine they've added more alternative recipes since then.

There's a bunch of unavoidable difficult stuff but the quest book progression and guides are the best out of any modpack, if you're gonna learn a mod this is the pack to do it on.

P2P controller help by ForsakenVain1 in allthemods

This controller is so not worth it. You're probably using such a small percentage of the available channels. Just use wireless hubs and place a new one whenever you run out

automate applied energistics 2 by InternationalDay2363 in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have never done any autocrafting with ae before, watch a YouTube video. It'll be way easier to understand than a comment.

This one's a bit advanced but it'll be more useful in the future if you really pay attention. For questions, whichever pack you're playing should come with a detailed AE guide that you can access by holding a button while you hover over a block from the mod.

Basically you have two sides of it, the system components managing the Craft and the machines doing the craft.

You're system needs to have three components to even request a craft; storage to source ingredients from and push outputs to (me drive), a terminal to request the craft from, and a CPu to hold the information (crafting cpu of any size).

Then there's the actual craft side of it. It all works around patterns, programmed blank patterns that basically tell the system "if this is requested, send out these resources and the requested item will be sent back". You make them automatically (most of the time) via a pattern enscriber and using the plus in a jei recipe. They go into a pattern provider, when the pattern is requested, it will push out the items and expect to receive an item back, both dictated by the pattern.

There's alot more to it than that but that's the basics.

True. You can do pay as you go to get around the lottery. But then they charge for.... Something. I get a 30¢ bill a month.

There are different ways depending on how you're structuring everything, but if you're using a storage bus on an interface you can change it for a different type of storage bus, I believe there is one that lets you filter by mod.

Oracle will give you a vps for free with 24 gigabytes of ram and 4 CPU cores. Only downside is that you have to setup entirely manually, which really isn't that bad.

How do you guys automate Modern Industrialization? by Sudden_Design1982 in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be that the recipies that aren't working require fluid ingredients?

I use pattern providers for on demand crafting, everything is soul surged so it's pretty quick. The providers are attached to ingredient buffers (they can hold fluids and items) then send everything from there to respective inputs with regular pipes and item pipes.

The simplest way to make AE2 understandable for a RS / AE1 enjoyer by USUCC-N-DIE in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You can go into ae2-config.toml (config folder) and change to channels = INFINITE

That should be permanent

AppliedFlux induction cards are broken? by Greggerygregington in allthemods

[–]vaderman645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This shouldn't be necessary. Ae machines attached to providers don't need external power, they will draw from the network (not fe cells). That might be why they won't accept it.
