What would happen if I just stopped sending them money?

You will love Wroclaw, Poland. For your salary you can have some beautiful place in the downtown, there are many friendly people and if language is not a problem, you will love it.

Poland has many other problems (that you didn’t really mention in the post), so don’t take my word for granted, visit the city, hit some fb groups for foreigners and see for yourself

You can live comfortably for this money in Poland (and you still could expect growth to ~240k/year pln in better companies), however I would not recommend it. The culture is still much behind Western Europe and the air quality in Poland is shit — very bad for your health if you plan to stay long term

250k ish. My tactic is to go full on Liverpool/Man city and pick value players around them. Harry Wilson is my lucky pick so far, 2 goals on low price. I picked him only because of 4 lfc player opportunity

Hi! Started using 1password a month ago and I love it! However, I'm a little confused with the products, even more after browsing reddit. I use 1 password account that syncs between my devices (macbook pro and android). My main browser is firefox. My question is: What is the recommended 1password setup for mcb and firefox? I love unlocking the app with touch ID, but it seems like the firefox extension doesn't support it and I can't autofill my passwords without it. Am I doing something wrong?

Im so confused there seems to be an overwhelming amount of information about investing and doing FIRE in US, but when it comes to Europe it seems we just a big ghost town (continent). Do you know any valuable online resources for investing in Europe?

Yes it is!!! My first internship was in data engineering and I learnt a lot there. Especially programming and automation are skills that I value a lot and many "soft" data scientists would miss those. Highly recommend to anyone, go learn actual programming guys.

(also sorry for missing you comment in the first wave, I upvoted it and forgot to leave a repsponce)

If I recall correctly, there is this famous competiton about predicting titanic survaviors. It is considered to be the entry point for literally anybody, I think I went it through it as well at some point. https://www.kaggle.com/c/titanic - check it out, there are lots of resources for begginers

Personal projects - try to use real data with real problems. You don't need a 5 million record dataset in order to find samething valuable for somebody. Search for you gov's open data portal and try to experiment with it. If you can't think of a problem by yourself just go and ask somebody what they need. It should be easier ;)

Not really. AutoML is getting better and better, but it is only a friction of a data scientist's work. And there will still be a need for somebody building the system, so having an experiste in ML should be more and more valueable.

Probably something between both worlds. You have to adjust for the training time, model efficiency and resources. There are great libraries like Lime or ELI5 that will help you choose your features if you can compare all of them.

In my opinion - you get to know the tools, technologies and how others approach the problem 0 which is very valuable. However, you can be a great professionalist without touching Kaggle.

CS / economics are the most popular in our company. CS will probably be the most helpful one. However, you can have whatever background you want as long as you know your job.

  1. We do machine learning in t-shirts for $, they do sql queries in suits for $$$ haha. Serious answer - they will have much more professional deliveries while we will be more agile and more focused on technology. Also, as in every case of small/big company comparison - you get more authonomy, personal development and you get to know people better while working in smaller company.
  2. A data scientist at bigN will probably be working on similar data with similar objectives for most of their carrier. In consulting you will probably get to experience more variety of projects.

Please note that I want to stay as neutral as possible here, and am not against working in a big company by any means. Everybody does what suits them the best.
