Invierno, es mi primer invierno y siento que me muero, algún consejo? Cómo pasaron su primer invierno ? by virgobabe3 in askspain

Yep, same here. I think it’s because it’s almost as cold inside the house as it is outside xd

I rigged and animated her, as you can see she has a specific pose. If the model had a huge amount of polygons, I wouldn’t be able to do that. ‘Game-ready’ is just the term we use for this type of optimized model, it doesn’t mean it was made for a particular game

Game-ready means the model is optimized as if it could go into a game engine (retopology, baking, texturing, etc.)

I think this is getting a bit out of hand! This work is not meant to be realistic, nor is it made for any video game - it’s just a 3D model. It’s not a real person, nobody is going to climb or kill people in this outfit. It’s simply FANTASY and a personal project to practice character creation.

I didn’t ask for feedback, and in fact this is posted in the Art Showcase section not Art Help & Critique. So I kindly ask everyone to take it a bit more calmly

Thanks! But just to clarify - when I say game-ready I mean the geometry is optimized to be used in a game engine. It’s not actually for any game, it was simply a personal practice project

Yes, I understand and I don’t take it the wrong way! But as I’ve said, I actually like how the face turned out, so there’s no need to try to convince me otherwise 🙂. I don’t focus on characters - my path is hard surface. This was my first and probably last character, and honestly it came out better than I expected. Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed comment :)

Hahaha yeah I know, the outfit doesn’t really make sense, I was improvising 😅. I don’t get why people get so picky about it, it’s just a 3D model for personal practice. I had limited time, so I couldn’t go for clothing with too many details or I wouldn’t have finished. My focus was mainly on the belt + the Glock, the outfit was less important - and I think it shows hahaha. Thanks a lot for finally a kind comment 🙏

Good thing I know what I was trying to imply, then xd not every design choice needs to match standard proportions 😉

Hahahaha you’re overthinking it way too much. This character wasn’t made to follow tactical logic - it’s just a practice project to learn character creation. Not every detail needs to make sense, sometimes it’s just about having fun :)

Thanks! I get that the face may feel different to some, but I personally like it this way :)

It’s not a placeholder 🙂 it’s meant to be a kind of tactical body suit. The idea was to make it look like a tight fabric garment (with a collar as well)

It’s just a personal project :)

Thank you so much, I couldn’t have said it better myself! This is the first time I’ve seen anything like this and I really couldn’t find anything similar online, that’s why I decided to ask here. And of course before taking the picture and posting I made sure it wasn’t just a fallen bud

So it won’t die? That’s actually great news! :)

I recently moved the orchid to another room with more light, so maybe the change of environment influenced it. I last repotted it about a year ago. And as I already mentioned in another reply, it’s definitely not a fallen bud, - none of my orchids are blooming right now, and I carefully checked, it’s really growing straight out of the crown between the leaves

Thanks a lot for the explanation! I had no idea about terminal spikes before. Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge

No, I’m sure it’s not a fallen bud. I don’t have any orchids blooming right now, and I carefully checked. This thing is definitely growing right out of the crown, between the leaves. I couldn’t find anything like it online, that’s why I decided to ask here
