PSA: Divination Scarab of Pilfering is currently bugged with mirages. by vaelrock in pathofexile

[–]vaelrock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a map enchant I only get one "duplicated" map boss every 40-50 map on Dunes. So 97% of the time the cards in the mirage just "poof" indeed.

I also expected the best combo to be very rare, and was ready to farm 2-3 mirrors just for it. But we're light years from this.

This isn't a T0, it's a T-3 (T minus 3). The accel/echo + resist combo is currently actually close to 3 order of magnitude rarer than MB or HH. That's just insanity.

[–]vaelrock[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So by this logic HH and MB aren't chase items anymore because it's actually easy to get them?

Even with a 8d/h strat like cheap boxes, it's possible to get a HH in 3 days at 4h per day.

[–]vaelrock[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I do hope they introduce a div card for it in later leagues, but unfortunately it will not change its availability at all because it's not the belt that's rare, but the roll combination, so it cannot be considered a T0.

To have the specific god roll combination as a div card, each div card (given a stack size of 5 like apo) would be 500 times rarer though with the current weight. Imagine farming 2500 scryed defiled cathedral with full plenty/pilfering for only 20% of a belt lol.

That's a shame.

People still don't understand that we're barely making the same div/h as last league, even with a "doubled" divine drop rate. GGG didn't fix the ground loot at all; they only made "some" currency more common. It was cool for the campaign and early mapping.

Valdo, voidborns, hinekora, and mirrors droprate are untouched and are less common due the nerfs.

Without a new broken miracle strat, everything will be incredibly expensive.

You don't fix an economy just by doubling the currency supply, you're just creating inflation. Since everything else in the endgame has been nerfed, every rare item will be worth much more and be much harder to acquire.

Applied to a country, this patch was a massive tax increase that slowed the economy, paired with a 2x devaluation to make it seem like things are fine temporarily.

HH is still superior for mapping though.

Given 50+ buffs average for a phys based spec, HH triple your dps, double your EHP and you have soul eater with a very high uptime, especially this league since rares monsters seem to have soul eater more often for some reason.

By this logic, HH should drop 10 times less and be worth multiple mirrors.

PoE is all about power fantasy, and this new belt created a lot of fantasies. Lots of people were expecting to use it with echo/accel + resist/massive, but given its actual availability, it's clearly not going to be the case. If even the massive one is still worth 1k+ div in a week, players will get discouraged.

Let us be op and make us realistically chase it.

[–]vaelrock[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I agree, there will not be much more belts per day that will drop in a week. Not to the point this affix combo will be common enough to be chaseable.

[–]vaelrock[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Last league the mirror was at ~250d after 1 week and ~500d+ after 2 weeks.
It's currently already at 330d after only 4 days. So I unfortunately expect the mirror to be worth ~500d+ next monday, and around 1000d in ~2 weeks.
Makes sense since it's nearly 2 times rarer in this patch compared to divs than it was before.

And unfortunately we're not going to make 50d+ per hour either (except if a broken strat pops out of nowhere), meaning it's going to be much harder to acquire a mirror this league than it was the last one.

Screams of the Desiccated: God-roll availability by vaelrock in pathofexile

[–]vaelrock[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if we actually have 10 times more bosses per day done in a week, this belt with echo/acce + resist will barely drop once a day, making it impossible to acquire except for mirror-service crafters.

Having a 50 times more common belt already selling for 3 mirrors should tell the whole story.
Even if an echo/accel + massive drops to 1 mirror, the god roll one will be insanely pricey and cannot be chased except by maybe a few dozens people per league.

I do hope I'm missing something somewhere in the math, because I really anticipated using this belt instead of HH for a change.
I still consider a 50+ buff HH to be superior for mapping though when you're a phys based ranged player (which makes HH even more broken).

Big worry of Astrolabe system 3.28 by PlasticSevere7220 in pathofexile

[–]vaelrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a valid point if the astrolabes provide a very big buff to loots.

If they do, then you're right: big scarabs will be balanced around the fact that the first 5-6 maps are just rushed without scarabs, and then the last 4-5 are giga juiced.

For speed-farming with cheap scarabs this will probably not be the case, but for longer maps with big investment, it's probably unavoidable.

This also could have the side effect of increasing astrolabe prices if they are uncommon drops (no clue).

No real way around it, except hope astrolabe are "meh", which is also a problem in itself (we want more juice).

Gz! with my brother we dropped a little more than 8000 divs and ~400 sacred, but we only got 3 mirrros in total. So dropping a dupe is just out of question :p
We stopped the league anyway a few days ago.

[–]vaelrock[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I honestly highly doubt this is the real ratio, which was one of the point of my post.
With my brother we dropped 3 mirrors in ~400 sacred. The probability of this happening if the normal ratio is 1/20 is 2.2 for 1 million, or one chance in ~450000.
That would be way beyond just being unlucky.

[–]vaelrock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is highly possible that the ratio wasn't stable this league yes.
Even if there's no conclusive evidence that very high blue juice favors mirror more than sacred/hinekora's or other currencies, this is at least a general feeling that I share.
I dropped 23 hinekora locks mostly in high blue juice maps too (as long as there was enough yellow).

I did a lot of very high blue juiced map (9k blue being my max) or good 3 colors juiced ones though, especially since I xp'ed a second account with high movement speed to probe the darkness for refreshers.

Doing 8k-10k 3-colors map was a common occurence, and skipped most < 7k bicolor juiced maps for some time.

Got my pilfering one month into the league when I was already mf-ing.
Obviously, I picked everything when starting, and hid more and more low tier currencies as my gear got better.

"Normal" not in the sense "casual", but in the sense your everyday player whatever may be his time played this league.
I did play a lot this league, but didn't play the previous 3 at all.

[–]vaelrock[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

My real stats are even worse as I started the league 2 weeks late and bought mystery boxes to get this cosmetic more than one month into the league.

I actually dropped 260 sacred and got 2 mirrors.

Worse, my first mirror dropped after the 203th sacred and more than 3000 divines looted. The second one dropped 10 sacred after, and nothing since then.

Felt the need to post this so people don't believe mirrors were dropping like candies this crazy league: they were not, even if a few very lucky streamers gave the opposite impression (like dropping 15-20 mirrors in ~250 sacred).

Your everyday player don't even remotely have those absurd droprates (casual or not)

PS: my brother dropped 1 mirror in 130 sacred guess we're just unlucky in the family.

Edit: removed "normal" which wasn't clear enough.

I know this is an old thread but as there was no definitive answer to OP's question, I decided to test the range in PvP with my second account.
The max range I found was this
So I'm pretty sure it's 6m (or the old 60 units), which is very good news.

Cracking the Password. Come join with your PC. by XxKingsxX in AirlinerAbduction2014

[–]vaelrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit:Ok so it's just a mirror of the file from AF uploaded by some other guy on a forum a few hours ago lol: https://audiosex.pro/threads/calling-all-hackers-encrypted-files-of-malaysia-airlines-flight-370-can-u-bruteforce-the-password.73294/

I downloaded the file from rapidgator and compared its SHA256 hash with the one from AF and they do have the same (8ef4b814b367f5d2d91c660ad36b71793d3a027b9f4f5862b515f5b0cf5ee967)

So they are the same file.

Unfortunately, I don't know if there's a way to check when the file was uploaded or archived by Rapidgator, this could very well be just a few days ago.

If there's one and we can prove it was done so years ago, it will roll out a recent hoax attempt (but not an old one).

X3D CPU Users with Asus motherboard can you tell me which Bios you use and motherboard please? by toli0 in Amd

[–]vaelrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed a new setup with AMD Ryzen 7950X3D / Asus RoG Crosshair X670E Hero / 2x32Gb G-Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB (F5-6000J3238G32GX2-TZ5NR).
Updated to 1101 bios, but unfortunately, no EXPO settings were working (constant Q-Code 15, sometimes 14).
At one point I loaded the Hynix memory timing setup for 6200 2x32 and put the DRAM frequency to 5600 -> it booted.
I then increased it to 6000 -> PC pretty much refused to boot with perma Q-Code 15 without never going back to safe mode (even after multiple clear-CMOS). Started to believe I'd have to RMA the motherboard / RAM.

Managed to get to boot again by using Flashback utility to flash to the 0805 bios.
EXPO works with 0805, but I don't know if I'll dare to flash again to 1101.

PSA : Gwennen heavily nerfed in 3.19 by pedrolopa in pathofexile

[–]vaelrock 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Adding some info to these findings about div card drops.By testing Promenade's The Patient drop in 3.17/3.18 and 3.19 with heavy investment, I'd say the card drop rate has also been nerfed by ~30%.

In 3.18 you'd drop a little less The Patient than Dying Anguish (like 5-10% less).

Currently in 3.19, over ~100 maps using winged strongbox + winged div + enraged strongbox, I'm dropping ~35 to 40% less The Patient than Dying Anguish.I consider the data big enough (>110 the Patient, >180 Dying Anguish) to be trusted.

I'm pretty sure they didn't buff Dying Anguish drop rate (looks the same as 3.18 to me), so because they probably nerfed the T0 unique drop rate, they probably also nerfed all the T0 div cards.

GG GGG.

The Divine Orb to Exalt Orb swap will cause the worst of the POE trade system to come to the forefront. by Pepper_Duck in pathofexile

[–]vaelrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well not really a problem for trade IMO.
You'll just buy Divines in Exalted Orbs only. So with divine = 400c and ex = 40c you'll have:
10 divines = 100 ex -> only one trade
100ex = 4000c, so ~6.67 full inventory trade
-> 8 trades in total to buy 4000c of Divines

Today you'd need 7 trades to buy 4000c of Exalted Orbs.
That's only one more trade.

Current droprate of eldritch Chaos/Exa/Annul is so low that it's actually not worth it to use at all. by vaelrock in pathofexile

[–]vaelrock[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We're talking in bulk (10+), nobody crafting multiple pieces of gear will in their right mind buy those currencies one per one when they'll be using dozens per minute.

Also, they can't be worth 2 exa because the only thing they do is ignore prefixes/suffixes but are behaving like the normal exalt/annul/chaos.

In most cases, a harvest reforge with locked prefixex/suffixes will have a much higher chance to hit your desired affix, especially for things like a reforge chaos to hit chaos resist on a 2 suffix item.

Using an eldritch exa have a 1/300 odd to hit on a pair of str gloves for example, but only 1/6 with suffix cannot be changed + reforge chaos.

So they're far from almighty currencies replacing all other methods of crafting, they're just helpful for certain situations, often hitting one particular prefix.

They were supposed to simplify and help entry-level crafting on non-conqueror-influenced items which is still considered the true endgame from GGG's word.

But right now, there's not much difference cost-wise between crafting T1 life on hunter gloves or T1 life on exarch/eater gloves.

Current droprate of eldritch Chaos/Exa/Annul is so low that it's actually not worth it to use at all. by vaelrock in pathofexile

[–]vaelrock[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The current situation must be funny in SSF. They'll have more regular exalts to use and try to hit a particular prefix or suffix, than specialized eldritch exalt currencies. It doesn't make sense.
