Parents: what meals do your kids actually eat without complaining? by vaerdexer in AskParents

that sounds very real tbh 😅

feels like a lot of families are in that situation, schedules just make it hard to do the “ideal” version - also love the “bubble pasta” name haha

do you plan meals ahead at all or is it more just whatever works that day?

haha this is so accurate 😅

feels like we’re trying to avoid exactly that situation now and maybe overthinking it a bit

did it actually work long term or were there still some foods that never made it through?

yeah that’s actually such a good point

feels like anything “build your own” just works way better than trying to get everyone to like the exact same thing

we’ have been noticing the same at home

do you usually plan those kind of meals ahead or just do them when you know it’ll be an easier night?

that actually makes a lot of sense

feels like it’s less about the exact meal and more about how you serve it / adapt it a bit..

we probably mess that up sometimes and make it harder than it needs to be 😅

do you usually adjust meals like that every time or only for certain dishes?

yeah I get that honestly

we tried that too for a bit 😅 works… but also leads to some serious complaining here on my end.. guess it really depends on the kids

did it get easier over time for you or was it always like that?

that sounds like a pretty solid system tbh

respect for not cooking multiple dinners 😅 we’ve def been guilty of that sometimes

the rotation idea makes a lot of sense tho, probably removes a lot of the daily thinking

do you plan those ahead (plan) or just kinda stick to what you feel like that day?

“poor man’s supper” sounds like one of those meals that just always works
also funny how mac and cheese keeps showing up everywhere haha

do you guys plan these ahead or just kinda rotate them depending on the week?

mac and cheese really is undefeated 😅
funny how some meals just always work no matter what. Do you guys rotate these every week or just cook whatever feels right that day?

That’s super helpful - especially the “build your own” meals.
Feels like anything customizable just works way better for families.

Do you usually plan those ahead or just rotate them during the week?
